Violin Islands Optical Illusion

When I start digging, and go through all your previous illusion submissions that haven’t been posted yet (which I just did today), I usually find some extraordinary pieces that somehow managed to slip my sight initially. One such great example is this magnificent photo (painting?) picturing two islands that resemble something much more than just ordinary pieces of land. Do you see them forming a giant violin or is it just me?

  1. Not strictly an optical illusion but a reflection creating an unexpected image. However, still rather wonderful. I wonder where it is. Thanks.

  2. Photoshoped to get the effect.
In reality the land masses and their reflections would join so someone has artificially created the impression of the viiolins neck by creating a gap in the dark shadowy refelction by moving the reflection of the major land mass and distant land away from them but leaving the reflections of the minor island in place.

The islands do have the basic shapes conducive to a bit of photoshop manipulation.

    1. Actually Magpiez, it’s not necessarily photoshoped. There can be a gab between the land and reflection if there’s a little wind on that part of the water which create ripples preventing the light from being reflected as on a mirror as is the case where there’s no wind.
