Seemingly Photoshopped Illusions

Here is another post by Colin, just wanted to add that I was first puzzled, why are his “badly” photoshopped photos of a dog with a blue-screen background material for this site, but then I noticed, that they aren’t artificial, instead real photos. He fooled me again… – Vurdlak

Hello! I haven’t made a post in quite a while :(, but I got inspired to do one tonight. I remembered about some old photos I took a few years back that look totally photo-shopped! It’s amazing because all these pics are totally real, and since I took them, I am sure they’re real. It’s something about the shadows, clear air, colors, and lighting that make these real-life illusions look fake! But they’re not! :) Have a wonderful, fabulous day! Summer is coming! – Colin

  1. If you ask me, I can definitely tell these are real photos. I really don’t understand how the horse one looks like it’s photoshopped.

  2. The only one that looks remotely photoshopped is the one with the dog, because its shadow is cast on a green bale of grass that blends in with the background, making it seem like there is some sort of screen there.

  3. The dog ones look fake, because that is hay that his shadow is reflecting on, not grass. But otherwise, everything else looks real.

  4. I agree. Why would anyone think these were Photoshopped? It’s a program capable of MUCH more than these regular photos.

  5. wait a second… I’ve stayed at that farm!!! Where is it?

I swear, I looked out that very same window… I think.

    Uncle John???

    Aunty Marg…?

  6. I get the first one because the hay looks like grass and the thrid i think is photoshopped because the horse’s shadow has no ears!I just don’t understand the second one!

  7. It dosent look real. I think it`s manipulated in the “Paint” program. The grass at the left side of the dog is not real . Did he want to hide somthing there!! and discover it with gras, its easy to do in that program. Look at the grainfield at the right it have no connection to the left side.!!!!

its a Fresh bale of Hay…

  9. Pay close attention to the shadows. i.e. In the first one, the dogs’ shadow points NW. But the pole or persons’ shadow points NE. Also with the one that shows the girls, leg, the sun seems to be at the SE side. Her right side leg has an inner highlight, and also the left. The horses, ears arent shown. In the window one, on the upper left corner of the mountain, there is a darker portion, that looks like around it, but darker. The sky supposedly looks clear in it, but the only way to darken, but keep the same territory, is to have a cloud cover it. it is supposed to have the illusion for the cloud not being there, but the only type of cloud that can do that are low flying cumulus clouds. The mountain, and the cloud are in a different areas, so when the mountain, is closer, and more to the left, the sun makes the cloud cast a shadow to the SE. How do I know this? Look at the shadows of other objects in the picture. It points to the SE. Therefore for the shadow to be cast, the cloud MUST be further for it able to do that. The purpose of the window was to block the cloud out of view, to make it lok like an illusion.

  10. adding to my last comment, the one cloud (in window pic) The shadow is pointed to the SW, while the other shadows are poited SW.

  11. no idea dont get whats wrong about these pics they just look like pictures of nature to me, no illusion, no photoshop, just pictures taken by a normal camera, and then uploaded I dont get what everyone is so fussy over to me it just photos.
