Perspective Subway Art

Nicholas R. S. emailed me these interesting photos, taken at Bayview Subway Station, in Toronto. Nick said: “Sort of like the big lines on the buildings or the 3d chalk drawings. Good stuff!” Indeed, these are something between murals and street art. Clearly, they work in a way anamorphic images work. If you are long time visitor, you may notice few of those pictures were already published on this site – 3D ladder and impossible steps. Don’t forget to jump inside this article, for full set of photos!

  1. These are still pretty cool, but not as good as the other 3-D art that was on here a while ago. The one’s with people in them are the best.

  2. Is the guy in the 3rd picture real, or is he part of the painting? The same(similar) painting is shown again, without the guy, but he still sorta looks like part of the drawing

    1. Is that a real question? You kinda answered it when you said he isn’t in the other photo..

  3. I pass by that station every day. I only ever noticed the salt shaker. Some time I’ll have to get off and look around. That’s Bayview station in Toronto.

  4. Whoever runs this place or else painted all those things at the wall should hold a booth for passer-bys to get their pictures taken with these drawings and charge ten apeice. Cool, cool stuff.

  5. ohhhhhh my gosh.you people that think that the illusoins are cool are dum.the people are putting their feet and hands on the ground and on the wall. and if u look in the corners you can see the images bend.DUHHHHHHHHH!and i’m only 11!

    1. Yes. it is very cool/ groovy as i like to say. but you are a fucking queer. Next time you want to just post the word cool, do so on your favorite gay porn website. Go fuck yourself. Queer.

  6. i recognise the staircase one from Regina Spektor’s video for Laughing With… wonder if it’s the same one.

  7. Dude, I’m thirteen. Way older, number 1. Number 2, you don’t have to clarify. Just say it’s not cool or its cool. Got it? You don’t have to be so judgemental.

  8. Hey there,
I have a question, my apologies if I’m repeating something that was discussed before or elsewhere, I’m new to this blog.
I’m a music artist and would like to use the impossible steps above for the project of an album artwork (I need the shot without the man climbing of course!). Do we know to whom this picture belongs, so that I can ask for permission and give credit?
    Many thanks
