Liu Paints Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz, Jean Paul Gaultier and Others

So what do you think would happen if someone combined prominent fashion designers, “Spot The Object” and “Body Paint” illusions along with #Liu Bolin holding a bucket full of paint? Well, the final result is Alber Elbaz, Jeaan Paul Gaultier and Angela Missioni gone missing! That’s right, this time Liu didn’t camouflage himself, but used his extraordinary talent to disguise prominent designers and blend them in with some of their own designs. The installation was featured in Harper’s Bazaar March (2012) issue, which enlisted Liu to come paint its favorite designers in the way only he knows how. What do you think about the typically chic fashion elite coated in layers of paint?

Alber completely disappears into his workroom, invisible among the mannequins and dresses – Even his signature spectacles are coated with color!

I hid each designer in his or her own designs” – Liu told Bazaar

  1. @kray: Do you know how much time someone spends on painting their own body, then staying still enough to blend in with the photo? I bet you couldn’t do it. You’re just being really mean and selfish and totally disrespectful. GOSH!!!
By the way, this is awesome work!

  2. The first ones cool, second, fun, third not so much! Overall really cool, just looking at it makes it look like it was hard

  3. I added this web site three days ago because it was to be a new illusion daily and so far this has not happened .It has been the same one and has not changed. Because I like it, I’ll give it one more day and if it doesn’t change it’s gone.

  4. Many times I see comments from users that are all bent out of shape by another users negative comments. Get over yourselves you whiny little babies! Liu Bolin is an artist as any other, and his work is open to criticism whether it be good or bad. To assume that one must like his work or not voice their opinion is simply ridiculous. Appreciate the differences in us all and quit trying to make everyone have the same feelings a you. Celebrate the diversity in life rather than try to make it conform to something your tiny little minds can bear…. LOVE THIS SITE!!!

  5. These are great. His other work can be astounding, but I imagine those pieces have no limitations of time or locale. There is a version of this in the film “House of Cards” with Tommy Lee Jones. Thanks for sharing this.
