Tin Man – Infinite OZ Optical Illusion

Infinite OZ Optical Illusion
Infinite OZ Optical Illusion

I just had to share this with you guys! Recently popular Zoomquilt illusion (we published here in the past) just got it’s advanced version. Tin Man is a show popular in USA if I’m right, and probably has something to do with Wizard of Oz cult movie. Someone created this awesome Infinite Zoom illusion of it, and I have to admit it is breath-taking. You can check Infinite Oz here. If you like this kind of stuff, you’ll probably favor Zoomquilt 2 as well. If you are familiar with Tin Man series, please share your comments. This submission was made by user called Kawodi, and this is what he wrote me:

“Hello Mr. Vurdlak, Thanks for your wonderful site. It’s a great pleasure for me to submit you an illusion I’ve found. It’s inspired by the legendary zoomquilt-illusion. The direct link to the illusion doesn’t work for me, so I have to go this indirect way, I hope you`ll apologize me for this. Hope it works, and you can link your site to this. Enjoy, keep on going. Greetz from Germany.”

  1. Love it!
I really like the artwork, as well, great find! The Oz series I read when I was about 6, but I still think they are great!

  2. wow the first time I came to this site was november 2006, was addicted for about 4 months then slowly stopped coming (sorry!!) but I just thought of visiting again, and would like to thank you for keeping it going stronger and stronger for so long! now it’s on my facebook, I’ll never forgot Mighty Opt Ill again!

this has got to be one of the most impressive illusions I’ve seen..! the art is just so beautiful :D

    cheers Vurdlak!

  3. yeaa! i watched it…sadly i coun;dnt finish it but yea, i remember this….

  4. I’ve got to say, with all due respect for the hard work you’ve put into the site (it’s appreciated), this is where the outrageous number of links you cram into your posts really starts to tick me off. How many links do we have to click before we find the one we want? It really lacks class, and smacks of disrespect for faithful readers. If you want to make this site a success, which I know you do, you need to start thinking about the quality of user experience.

Sorry for the whinge. I love the illusions here, but this self-spamming habit of yours is a major negative.

  5. Well, I don’t know how popular Tin Man is. It was a one-shot mini series that was on SciFi network, and I also don’t know how much of a cult following The Wizard of Oz has. I know it’s popular because it’s a good movie and was (if I remember right) the first color movie? It’s nothing like Rocky Horror or anything though.

  6. I don’t get it. It’s a nice picture (but what is that in the middle?), but where does the zoom come in? Also, what does it have to do with tin man?

  7. I loved the miniseries Tin Man on SciFi, but was that picture in it or what? I don’t get the picture. But, you said something about the Wizard of Oz “cult movie”. I don’t understand what you meant by that. It most certainly is NOT a cult movie, at least not in the eyes of many Americans and others all over the world. It is simply a loved children’s movie, and it is completely harmless. Just thought I would comment a bit. Cool pic, anyway.

  8. You have to click the 5th link in the text which says “check Infinite Oz here”. This will take you to the animation that people are talking about here. :->

  9. I will have to say this mini series was one of the best! If you click on that link you will see the illusion and it is spectacular! Thanks that really made my day!

  10. This is a very cool piece of infinite art work but, you have to click on the link that take you to the sci-fi channel site that hosts it and then you will see what it is really like

  11. yeah – got 2 visit that fifth link to get it. totally awesome, may have me interested in the series, actually.

  12. Sci-Fi channel’s originals are frequent guilty pleasures for my wife and I, so I set our DVR to record this 3 night miniseries. The night that pt. 3 was airing, we started watching pt. 1. I gave up about an hour and twenty minutes in, due to the fact that it was interminably slow and shockingly uninteresting. When I stopped playback, I ended up catching the final 15 minutes of pt. 3…and I can honestly say that I don’t feel that the intervening 4 hours that I missed could have possibly contained ANYTHING that wasn’t either explicitly stated or at least implied by the first hour and the last 15 minutes – making this about 90 minutes of utterly wasted time, cruelly stretched out to a suicide-inducing six freaking hours. Completely awful.

  13. For all those that don’t get it, click the link that says “check infinite oz here” then it plays the zooming animation.

  14. That was absolutely fantastic!!!!! Completely amazing! I loved every second of it. The only thing to complain about is that it wasn’t as smooth as the other zoomquilt illusion. It kept stopping and going, which got annoying.

  15. for those of you who are still confused click on the “check Infinite Oz here” link then you’ll see for your self.

  16. woah, this went on FOREVER but that is cool!

FOR ALL THOSE PEOPLE WHO DON’T GET IT, R-E-A-D AND CLICK ON THE LINK NOT THE PICTURE!!!!

  17. Wooooow!! its really something amazing! it took me to other worlds… like im traveling through time and out space… wish to save it in my hard disc.. but couldnt!!

  18. Wow! That is quite cool. Not what I was expecting, but cool. I have seen Tin Man, but after watching this I want to watch it again. Watch it if you haven’t, it’s a great movie.
