“Kindness” Illusion by Elena Moskaleva

Gotta run, have to compose a seminar for a course I’m listening this semester, which is an alternative for passing an exam. The topic I chose is “Google PageRank™”, which shouldn’t be to hard to cover – Like every self-respected webmaster, at least I should have some PR and SEO experience, which hopefully comes in handy during the seminar. After all, haven’t I already managed to achieve PR6 for Mighty Illusions, or not (at one time even PR7). This isn’t something you easily throw away… The only problem is how to avoid presenting it to the class auditorium? I’m not much of a presentation person, so will have to think of something to avoid it. Hope my mentor closes an eye on it…

This said, here is an illusion for today. The painting was done by Elena Moskaleva, entitled “Kindness”. Your assignment for today isn’t hard at all! All you have to do is to try and find something hidden in the image below. If you ran out of options, look at this post for a hint. Enjoy!

  1. now i see it! bam!
although, im not sure if i am seeing everything…there could be more to it, but there are faces looking downward with the trees as their hair.

  2. !!!!!HINT!!!!!
    There are two faces, female
    Looking down, a little pale
Leaves for hair and leaves for shape
Nymphes (is it that word?) of trees
Kindly looking down on the scene

Do you like my poem? It isn’t very artistical, but never mind that now. Tell me if you found it!

P.S. sorry about my last comment, it wasn’t complete.

  3. Les arbres au premier plan contiennent chacun un visage caché dns leur feuillage : un homme à gauche, une femme à droite.

  4. Nup, can’t see anything yet. Mind you, I’ve only given it about 30 seconds, moving away from the screen, squinting my eyes, trying to imagine what’s there. The whole picture is quite symmetrical which makes me think it’s a face, especially with “Kindness” as a title.

I think I need it to spend a little more time before looking up the solution.

  5. I JUST FOUND IT I THINK! THERES FROGS ALL AROUND IT! OR SOEMTHING ALL AROUND IT. AND ALL THE PEOPLE ARE RUNNIGN TOGETHER INSTEAD OF WHAT MOST OF US WILL THINK (THEIR PLAYING).

  6. OH! I just saw it! It just popped out! NICE ONE!!! My sisters are still scratching their heads over it. He he he he ~evil laughter~

Oops. That wasn’t too kind. =)

  7. Found it! Look at the trees on the upper right and upper left corners. The branches make up the profiles of two faces (the faces are not the branches, they’re the spaces between the branches).

  8. There are four faces. the top rite corner from the top of the tree. Also on top of the other tree to the left is # 4.

  9. It took me a while because I was trying to see it in the trees. The faces are actually in the spacing between the trees and the trees make the outline and hair of the faces. I’m not sure what frogs or fishes you’re seeing though?

  10. Hanna, you’re a wonderful poet. That fits the painting so well.

Thanks to both Vurdlak and Hanna for lighting up my day.

  11. Not sure why no one’s commented on this, but the illusion isn’t *just* faces. There’s bodies outlined by the tree branches and trunks that lead to the “hair”.

  12. I thought it was a snow globe at first (still pretty close if you ask me), but my girlfriend had to show me the faces. Pretty cool!

  13. The snow or hills or whatever that is looks like an ocean and I also see the woman in the trees in the top right… but where is the other face?

  14. thats cool
couldn't spot it till i read comments
    >:-(
one of the faces is better than the other. (the left one looks a bit rubbishy) but still v. cool

  15. hey! I found it isn’t just one face, there are two more! just to look at the treetops and the sky … trees are the hair and the sky is the face of women’s faces. Sorry if this isn’t easy to understeand, ’cause i’m spanish…. haha… kis for everyone!!!

  16. AH HA ! there’s a face on the trees ! the hint really helped :)

though i see about 45 of you have already gotten here before me

  17. I see the faces, but I also see a tree giving us the middle finger. I don’t know if I’m supposed to see it, but I do.

  18. I saw that too Billy!

I can see three faces. One in the big tree on the left, one in the big tree on the right and a smaller one to the right of the one that is on the right.

  19. if you zoom out and look at the pic as a whole (already knowing where the faces are), you can see the trees bend inward on the sides of the pic to make shoulders/backs of the ‘angels’ and their arms are around the children. in the foreground you can see a hand. they are holding the children. it’s nice. i didn’t notice it until just not and i’ve been seeing it on my google desktop all day.

  20. I couldn’t see it at first, but I read a few of the comments and now I can. By the way, I like the new background!

  21. Actually, if you look closely, the faces in the trees are just the heads of two people… the rest of their bodies are attached to the head, looking side on. Follow the blue hillocks around down to the bottom, they are the arms of the two people, holding hands. If you look even closer, their arms actually form a ring around the children. I’m guessing they are supposed to be angels or something… Very clever though!! :)

  22. There are 3 (THREE) faces that i can see in the picture. One is on the left and 2 (two) are on the right. if you see the large one in the tree look behind her near the right edge. you will see the neck and then the face.

  23. at first i couldnt see it and then bam! read others comments for hints

    a beautiful painting

  24. This is how the trees work: the trees with the browner leaves are the hair of the 2 faces. They aren’t that big. They extend in the sliver of space between the brown-leaved tree and the closest white-leaved tree to them.

Note: the faces aren’t upright staring at you. They are at a 45 degree angle looking down towards the center. And you only see they’re profile (one eye, the side of their nose, the side of their mouth).

  25. I love how ‘Huvber’ said,
    “i see two guardian angels.”

i think that sums up this picture so beautifully.

  26. By any chance, are you the Elena Moskaleva that taught at Berlitz Otemachi? If so, please look me up on Facebook – I am friends with a number of our former colleagues, like Mihoko, Paul, Brian, etc. You can see a picture of my son there ;-)
Oh, and I love your art!

  27. oh oh now i see them underneth the hair the tree on the right eye is formed by the tree in the backround but I think you can see the other one now ;) enjoy!

  28. Everybody see something different than the other. It’s only 2 women/angels, one on each side looking down at the skaters. You only see their profiles. There are no babies, no 3rd face, no bobcats, no hands, and no heart. JUST 2 ILLUSION FIGURES…THAT’S IT!

  29. For the life of me I cannot see the babies.
All I see are the to faces in the tree’s.
It looks like they are watching over the ice skaters.
Can someone tell me where the babies are?

  30. iF YOU LOOK AT THE ONE ON the right lookmin the fork of the tree there is a BUM A BUM (_(_) <<< not like that
