Warped Checkered Squares

Adrian Peña sent me bunch of illusions recently, but most of them already appeared on the site in the past. Still, one of them I found really great. I never saw it before, but had similar version of it. It’s called Warped Squares, and gives you opinion that all the horizontal and vertical lines in the picture are somehow bent. If you look closer, you’ll notice all lines are straight and parallel, and that the optical illusion effect is achieved from smaller rectangles inside every square.

Another thing I’d like to mention. As you probably know, some of the images on this site are pretty big (like this one) and drain a lot of bandwidth. Once I asked if some of you can help (here) and almost immediately got answer from one pretty cool guy. He’s name is James, and he helped us really much in previous months hosting some of our gif animations. I would like to take this opportunity to thank him personally, and all of you are welcome to do so too through comments. James runs pretty awesome site based around Street Punk scene in Utah. It contains related pictures, music, downloads, etc. You can visit it here: uthapunk.org

  1. each of these squares are completely strait it’s only the dots in the squares that cause it to appear slanted or curved.
