Turn Me Upside-Down!

I’m not sure whether you are aware of all the tricks media companies bombard us with, but more often than not, suggestive scenery is cleverly hidden inside their billboards. Take this beer ad for example. Now rotate the picture (or your head). See what I mean? If you browse our archives, more specifically the “Sexy” tag (don’t worry, it’s safe for work), you’ll see bunch of examples where sex sells. It’s sneaky, but it works.

Anyway, off topic – I hope there are already some of you who did get the controversial iPad. Did you get an opportunity to install our iPad application? How does it look like? Is the iPad really that great? Believe it or not, I still haven’t had a chance to play with it first-hand!

  1. wow, i didn’t get it at all until you said “sex cells”. man, that’s as crazy as a monkey jacked up on mountain dew!

  2. @ Adian Lou:

I think you might want to look again. The beer bottle represents something else (that might hang down…)

  3. I think this is great advertising- it will get people’s attention without actually showing anything vulgar. Made me laugh

  4. “Sexy” ads have been around for many many years, it’s our sub consious that sees it. This beer bottles are a good example, Depending on how you look at it.As they say on 5th avenue “sex” sells. As for the iPods, I haven’t seen on yet, can’t wait!

  5. I didn’t interpret it as a beer bottle up the @$$. I saw it as looking at a guy from behind, through the legs, with his schlong hanging between his legs.

  6. I suspect this is a European ad … don’t think it would be allowed in the U.S. because of our prudish “standards”

  7. I would love to promote your site on my Facebook page, group and profile, but this type of illusion is exactly why I can’t. Too bad you can’t find enough family friendly ones to stick with them and have to dip into the gutter all too often.

  8. Yes Vurdlak, it is a beer bottle. But that doesn’t change what its conveying. Thought you could do better than this. Guess I was wrong.

  9. ohhh… thats fun…
    i just appriciate the creativity..
i remember that “sandal strap” illusion also..
    nice one dude \m/

  10. Yes, it’s a beer bottle, but the reason you put it on the site is it doesn’t just look like a beer bottle. If it did, you wouldn’t have posted it. You posted it and called it a “sexy” illusion because it looks like much more than a beer bottle. Don’t pretend innocence by saying it’s just a beer bottle, when you posted it precisely because it doesn’t look like just a beer bottle. Be honest and admit you posted a “naughty” picture. We know what it IS, but this site thrives on what things look like as opposed to what they actually are. Don’t be two-faced and claim this is a clean picture. You have the right to post what you want on your site, but you ask for feedback, so I’m giving it. And I won’t promote your site as long as you post pics like this. In fact, I may be forced to remove your widget from my desktop as this type of illusion is very embarrassing to have others see right on my desktop for days.

  11. Denise: I think this “illusion” is perhaps not one of the best found on this site, but the composition is funny and I am amazed that something like this could scandalize any person, child or adult, even with religeous convictions. Here in Spain I have many friends, most catholic but even islamic and others but nobody so narrow-minded he couldn’t show this to his kids. This site is fantastic and Vurdlac is doing a great job, so long now and newer boring!

  12. to those on the offended side of the discussion. you all contend that the picture was posted is offensive. before you berate the poster please remember this. as individuals, we are just that, individual. and as such each of us may be offended by different things. as each of us are elated, angered and hurt by different things. so before you accuse the poster of offending YOU; remember that YOU are the one that decides what offends you; NOT he. i do not contend that your views or beliefs are misguided nor incorrect; only that they are yours and as you are different from every entity on the planet; so are your perceptions. i myself find the picture offensive as well. but not for some form of sexual obscenity; rather in knowing that once this shoot was finished the alcohol was probably tossed in a trash can…and that is the ultimate in obscenity.

  13. yh this is quite cool my bro thought it was funny so did my mum LMAO
    LOLOLOLOLOLOLlololololOLOLOLOLololol

  14. @bored you are assuming that they are real beer bottles. I for one find it much more likely that they are fake (not really transparent enough in my eyes). So no beer was harmed in the shooting of this picture:)

  15. I’m with Denise on this. I can’t link it to my facebook page. Too the ones who like it, you should be tolerant of the people who don’t like it. To does of us who don’t like it, yes we are allowed to voice our opinions.

  16. Oh shit hahaha. You people need to relax, they’re just showing an example of how dirty minded people are these days. me included!

  17. yeah ur right. “sexy” ads been around since the 50’s, and quite popular too. this is just one example from many of those subliminal ads out there applying the technique of “sex selling”.
if u think this is shocking, google “subliminal messages in ads” and look at the result. even disney is selling sex

  18. Well, well, well
And here I was thinking it was going to be boobs…what a *ahem* pleasant surprise

  19. this is sickening!!!! Why can’t i report this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
