Swift Walker

David Kossin says: “Don’t worry, this is another one of my original photos – not a stolen one from your site! :) This is a man in Italy who designed a suit that gives the illusion of him walking very swiftly down a windy road. He is actually standing perfectly still. Quite interesting! I hope you enjoy it. Still love the site!” Thanks David for this interesting illusion. To be sincere, it took me a while to notice the illusion, but when I did, I found it really cool! In a way, it’s a version of still-runner I posted few months back. If you like this, you should also check Johan Lorbeer’s still life performance. Great effect, indeed. Only thing, I’m not really sure what can he do with his invention, except standing still in a city square. Maybe I should make a game for mac, where you would stand in this suit – only problem, you couldn’t do much in the game too! :) By the way, those of you who missed it, be sure to subscribe for our optical illusions feed with your live bookmarks, bloglines, netwibes…etc. to get the newest illusion in your feed reader daily.

  1. It might work as a fun halloween costume or something, but sadly, the fact that he was standing still in a suit that was askew was pretty apparent to me. I’d give it 2 stars.

  2. This photo was taken in Navona square in the centre of Rome i live near ther e and i often see this man he is an street artist and he usally stay imobilizzed in the street and his drees is locked in that position…

  3. I get it, the jacket is folded up like if it were blowing in the wind of the guy moving really fast. And the end of his tie is up by his neck.

  4. i saw him when i was there!!
it actually looks really cool, but this ins’t a very good picture, and its not a good angle.
but if you are ever in rome, go to the piazza novella and he will probably be there!

  5. i saw loads of people like this when i went 2 barcelona, they’re awesome!!! i forgot to take a photo of 1 though! i would send it in otherwise…:D

u can tell its fake cos in real life your arm would never be in such an exaggerated position

  7. This is in piazza Navona in Rome, Italy! I met this guy once when he was doing the same thing, he is from brazil.

  8. if u dont get it (or u dont read the paragraph above), the pic is of a guy who is wearing a suit sewn to look like he is walking very fast and the wind is moving it around, when realy, he is walking at a normal pace and the suit is perfectly still.
