I’m also blind in one eye. Question: The white squares where the lines intersect; if you try to focus on a few of them, do all the rest of them disappear? At first, I thought the illusion was that there really was no white squares.

Actually, there are 69 black dots, because if you focus on one white square, the rest of the squares become black dots, and if you don’t like that explanation, there are 70 white squares.

Who ever counted 70 only multiplied the sqaures, 7 X 10 = 70. You cant see very many spots on the outside line no matter how hard you try. I expect there would only be 50 – 60 at the most.
