Mural Trunk

Another use of Trompe L’Oeil (murals) is to give simple objects depth and bulges. What you can see in these two photos isn’t real trunk, in fact it’s just a simple wooden square. Like an over sized brick. If you look closer, you will see that all the belts, nails and other ornaments are just painted details. Really amazing if you ask me. Be sure to check some other murals to see what else can be done. We had some pretty amazing murals in the past. They look unbelievably 3D!

  1. My parents used to have nightstands modeled after these, they were really cool. But they got replaced when the house was remodeled.

Oh, and Mr. MOI (sorry, I don’t know your name), you do know that you can update your blog to the new version now, right?

  3. I really would have liked to see some close-ups photos of each trunk to really appreciate the artist’s work. Very impressive, though, none-the-less!
