Lincoln Illusion

See this fine lady looking through a window in her room? I belevie she isn’taware that if you look at her from the distance, you will notice see she’s the part of a Lincoln’s face! Try it.. just slowly move away from this picture and the effect will come by it self. This wonderfull painting is done by a true artist, Salvador Dali.

  1. Yeah I would also prefer the title of the artwork, and maybe even a link to where I can buy the poster. And for those interested the piece is called

Gala Contemplating the Mediterranean (a.k.a Lincoln in Dalivision)

you can find your own link to buy the poster.

  2. ok, this is exsquisite art, but lincoln was VERY pixelated, and not that great… naked woman is HOT tho… I think it is good to express opinions in posts like these tho.

  3. I don’t think he tried to make it look like Lincoln, he only tried to make you belive he tried to make it look like Lincoln.

  4. This picture is in the DalĂ museum in Figueres, Spain, and to see lincoln properly you have to do it through a special lense that they have in the museum just in front of the picture. If you ever go to spain check out that museum, but get there two hours or three before 6 pm, because otherwise you won’t get see it all.

  5. oh! that’s what they mean by speaking out of your ass. (For those that are less intelligent, not that there’s anything wrong with that, lincoln’s mouth is the woman’s butt.

  6. interesting that people are using the word pixelization. this painting was done in 1976. does anyone know if that word was in use at the time? i have a feeling not, but i could be wrong. i haven’t seen the original, as Gala has, but you can use your mobile phone camera to give the same lens effect. for those who are saying ho hum, please remember this was done before the personal computer, digital cameras, or the internet. oh, and it’s PAINT.

  7. This art can be found in the Dali museum in Barcelona, Spain. In fact when you stand like 20 meters away from it, you can’t see lincoln.

But when you look at the photo you take from the painting, you get the point. (Or you can pay 2 euro’s to watch the painting thru mirrored binuculars..)

  8. I was just at the Dali museum yesterday. Learned another trick with this painting. If you look at the painting by holding your sunglasses up and seeing the reflection in the front of the lense (not looking throught the lense) Lincoln is very very distinct! Not pixelated at all. It blew me away! Being Florida all the docents had people do it. It was when I said wow Dali was truly a genius!
