Hitler Dome Optical Illusion

Melissa Celii sent this mysterious optical illusion. She explained: “This image is an interior model of the great dome thought up by Hitler and designed by Albert Speer, and is also known as the Volkshalle. Notice in the back of the hall there is a pedestal with an angel or eagle figure on top. The illusion is that this figure also forms the face of Hitler. I’m new to the site, so I’m not sure if this one has been posted yet. Just thought it was interesting that in their spare time off from destroying humanity the Nazi’s were creating illusions. ” At first, the illusion wasn’t so obvious, but when I uploaded it to this article, and when image became smaller, I could clearly see Hitler’s unique mustaches, eyes, and dorky hair (presented by shadow above the eagle).

This one is great, considering the background story by Melissa, and all those mysterious facts behind evil Nazi regime. I heard before that Nazis were also occupied by science, occultism, voodoo and many other alternative ways that could eventually help them take on the world. Someone said that they even hired Purple Tentacle ;) from Lucas Arts (?!) Oh and one more thing: I consider my self relatively good in English (not my mother language), and you probably won’t believe me, but I don’t know how to write verb “read” in past tense /or is it past perfect?/ For example, I wanted to say: “Few months ago, I “red/read” somewhere… how do I write that? Educate me!

  1. It’s “read” for both past and present tense…one of the mysteries of the English language. Cool illusion by the way

  2. Oh you just say i read that. Read is past, present and future. It is just that the past is said as (red) and the others are said as (reed). Hope that educates you.

I really thought this illusion was cool but i couldn’t see hitler’s mouth.

  3. Ah that’s funny! Haha Hitlerillusion.

    And it’s always written “read.”
“I read that book a few weeks back.”
“I’m going to read that book soon.”
“I’ve just read a new review in the NY Times.”

  4. Read is the past, current, and future tense of the word read.

    For example:

“I read that book last month” is past tense.

“I like to read magazines.” is current tense.

“I have to read 4 chapters for a test” is future tense.

    Hope it helps.

    -Paul

  5. Love the site and omg i c hitlers face great illusion

Its spelled the same for “read” for past tense but its pronounced “red”

    “A few months ago, I read…”

  6. This is just a drawing, nobody ever built anything like this. :-P

Besides, the light would have to be VERY SPECIFIC to create a face like that (seeing as how his hair, theedge of his face, and his moustache are all shadows), and it would be impossible if they had built it according to this drawing.

I highly doubt this was an building that the Nazis actually planned to build with a representation of Hitler. ;-)

  7. wait, Sexy, y’d u say you’re hot? does that have anything to do with an illusion? and who’s Farted? And hence, why was that post even allowed?

  8. i think this is a great illusion

    P.S
“I read some of the comments”
“I am going to read some of the comments”
    “I am reading the comments”

  9. I can see hittler. I had to cross my eyes and tilt my head to the side. But after that I could TOTALLY see hittler. Before that I just saw where it could be a face…

  10. OK, so five people have already posted the past tense of read, so everyone still finds the need to post it?

  11. Sorry, I’m a bit off-topic, but:
‘”I like to read magazines.” is current tense.’
It’s not, actually; it’s future tense. ‘I’m reading magazines’ would be present tense.

  12. I agree with HT Draagon, it just looks like a drawing, and the lighting would have to be extremely specific. THe face looks better when you see it on Google, as the image is smaller.

  13. The building was never built…google it. Also “I like to read magazines” is current tense because you currently like to read them.

  14. is that a crowd of people on the bottom? cos if they are, thats one massive dome, I bet i could see it from my house…
    where is his mouth?

  15. Sry, I don’t see Hitler anywhere….is it that face in the middle, cuz’ if it is…than this would be one really wierd illusion (wierd as in pathetic)

  16. Yeah it is really there!! First I didn’t saw it either… But i have it as a add on in my google start-page and there i saw it (smaller picture)
It is a cool illusion. You see it a glimp and its gone… It’s hard to see it again… :-)

    1) the wings are the eyes
    2) the shadow above the bird is his typical hair.

  17. hey. about the english language thing. i mean yeh english is prwetty weird. i mean in a language where you drive in a parkway and park in driveway, anythign can happen!

  18. KICKASS ILLUSION!!!! and for tim duncan look straight ahead 2 da eagle the wings look like hitlers eyes and the hair is the shadow by that arch thingy

  19. I’m sure i’ve seen another picture like this but the image was slightly better. Apparently it was designed to only appear once per year with the position of the sun

  20. I saw this picture on the history channel, but they didn’t mention the face….I thought I was the only one who noticed it.

  21. For those of you who can’t see the face go to google images and search adolf hitler in world war two. I repeat WW2 you will then say either that you can just barely see the face or you definatly see the face
