Düsseldorf Stadttor 2D Transparent Building

Few days ago, Bruno David Rodrigues sent us his amazing photo-work. His email got lost in our inbox, so just today I noticed it, and it was by pure accident. Below is a result – photo of a “transparent”, “2D” building in Düsseldorf, Germany. It is not square and thus, from some angles, you can take picture that makes the building look like a 2D wall. For more wonderfull images, you might want to check Bruno’s Flickr account. Also, to view this image from air, visit Google Maps here!

  1. to:Acacia (or whateva)

it doesnt look triangular to me, Acacia. you need help and an eye exam… and u r name is BAD!!!!!!!!!!!! omg!!!!!!!! when u r 18 u got to change it. witch will be in like 10 yrs. i bet u r a little 8 yr old!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHA u r only 8!!!!!!!!!!!! NA NA NANA NA!!!

    1. ummmm its totally possible that it could be a triangle… i mean thats the point of optical illusions it might not look like a triangle but 100% it isnt a rectangle soo.. either its a parallelogram, fake, or a triangle dont disprove theorys so quickly and without reason please..

    2. To: GreenDayGirl10123,

You don’t know if it’s not triangular or not! That’s what makes it an ILLUSION! DUH! And ust because she’s most likely right, dosn’t give you the right to call her 8 years old and has a stupid name because how do you know if she used a fake name and if it was real then you are just a big lying mean bully. BTW, LEARN HOW TO SPELL!

  2. so what do YOU think it is then? A giant slab of windows? just curious…maybe you and twilight should make out or something. you seem to be of the same maturity.

  3. I think i can see the outline of the building in the clouds, it is a triangle with a flat top. BTW, GreenDayGirl10123 I may be only 13 but I’m still smarter than you. :P

  4. Greenday girl you sound like ur a little Daddy’s girl who always gets what she wants. i agree with tori, i’m 13 also and still seem smarter than you. and mira, what map? this is an illusion, dont need to go all scientific on it and check a map just so you can seem smarter.

  5. Ummm…Acacia’s right…I think it’s a triangular building…The ‘see-through’ effect is just the fact that the building is quite reflective…

OTHER THAN THAT! It does look cool!

(It would be cooler though if I hadn’t seen this sort of thing before)

    ……

Don’t kill me! Oh, I’m 11 and seven months. lol

  6. OMG! I’m 13 as well…cool!…Oh yeah anyways, I think that the building is triangular as well…anyways…CHEERS!

  7. You got some very immature people on here NA NA NA NA WTF!? Are you, like, 6 or something because even if that person was 8, they were still more mature than you!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Grow some brains, green day girl u ignorant twit! First of all, Acacia is no a baby name you pathetic weirdo. Second of all, Acaica is right! At the Back it is triangle shaped…like a triangular prism u stupid idiot.

Grow sum brains and use them.

  9. I think I speak for everybody here when I say: GreenDayGirl10123, SHUT UP.

It IS a triangular building- or it has a very sharp corner like a triangle- as many people after you have said.

And calling someone an 8 year old (GASP!) when they are clearly SMARTER THAN YOU is just plain stupid, wouldn’t you agree?

hehehe- I hope she actually reads this.

  10. my goodness.. some people just need to grow up
read the intro. thing at the top of the image.. and view the mapp..
it shows that the building is actually a rhombus.
[square tilted over. for those who dont know]

  11. gee yur nice eh greendaygirl. thank you for speaking for me “no your an 8-year-old”. you saved me a l-o-n-g comment. on the building…yup, triangular.

  12. Nice reflection!! Anyways, it is a rhombus (or however you spell it). Also, whats wrong with checking a map? There WAS a link to a map that you could check; why not check it. Oh, and GreenDayGirl, this is a place to comment on the ILLUSIONS, not criticise people on what they think!!!

  13. de ja vu! I was just reading “Point Blank” by Anthony Horowitz this morning, one of the charachters come from Dusseldorf!

  14. i reckon they painted the building coz if it were a mirror it would reflect and if you closely i dosent

  15. umm… dont call me stupid or something because i am fully aware of what i am about to state may be one of the stupidest things ever: hows that a triangle?? i see no triangle! looks like a shaped thing with a slanted top… lol i feel dumb now having typed that out.. and submitting it…

  16. This is pretty cool.
And thanks to this site’s creator, it’s really nice to post stuff like this, I like optical illusions.

BTW, ppl, plz don’t fight… that’s not wut this site’s 4. And being and 8-year-old isn’t bad, it doesn’t mean you’re stupid or anything.
But treating someone of and 8-year-old on an optical illusion site IS BAD, MEAN and STUPID!

  17. hmm.. didn’t anyone care to look at the link in google map? it’s not a triangle but a parallelogram. -_-

  18. The clouds in all the photos are in the same formation only lighter or darker, I don’t know if this is intentional or if the pictures are supposes to look like they are from different times of the day. If so I think it’s photoshoped

  19. The building is not a triangle. The side of the building is painted with clouds. The clouds on the side of the building are the same in all pictures while the coluds in the sky change.

    1. herbrampe: As a matter of fact, the clouds in the sky does not change (the clouds are static in the pictures.. in real life, they suuure do change alot!)

  20. You don’t have to be rude guys, we thought the picture looks like a common building that has four sides that’s why our mind would tell us to think that we can actually see the left side of the building which is actually not there, It’s in triagular shape, our mind is just used in seeing square or rectagular shapes…
