Ambigrams & Upside Down Heads

Sam Saxton has a bit of a gift, he can not only visualize how to make just about any word into an ambigram, meaning it can be read right side up or upside down, he also knows how to draw people with that same technique. The result is a series of celebrities, historical figures, even Star Wars characters and superheros that can be read and visualized from either direction.

While my personal favorite is this clean and easy to read Washington picture, the entire gallery is certainly worth a look.

  1. It’s beautiful, but it doesn’t say Albert Einstein either way up. Kudos for the mad hair, though.

    1. Actually it does, “ALBERT EINSTEIN” can be read from both directions, much like the “WASHINGTON” above.

  2. To be honest, I’d lose the ‘albent’ bit and just go with e=mc2 and einstein. Albert isn’t working.

  3. Ambigrams are cool when they work, like the Washington one. But the Einstein one is just wrong- Einstein doesn’t even have a mouth so it’s just creepy.

    1. The tongue on Einstein is a nice touch. But I seriously can’t hardly read “Albert”
