3D Chalk Drawings – Update

Constantly companies and associations email me proposals to hire me as their 3D chalk drawing contract-artist. Well, I’m sorry to disappoint you people, but that’s just not my profession. You’ll probably get more success googling for Julian Beever or Kurt Wenner. Contact them, I’m sure they can help. You can see showcase of their recent stuff inside our “3D chalk Drawings Category”. One of the recent campaigns, where 3D chalk artist was hired to advertise a product can be seen directly below. Look at this “Journey to the Center of The Earth” sidewalk drawing. It surely attracts attention. This is yet another example how optical illusions can help advertisers market their product (something I was always trying to explain). I have added few more recent works, mostly by Beever and Kurt Wenner. We didn’t have much chalk drawings lately, so I hope this looks refreshing. Also, please comment your experience with the new widgets. Do they all work flawlessly?

  1. NICE!!!!!! I WISH I COULD DO THAT….but I am artisticallu retarded. OH WELL. WE HAVE OTHER PEOPLE WHO DO IT FOR US AND IT IS AWSOME.

  2. OOH the last one was a nice finish. =)

That “homeless” guy, though…is the snow around him real or is it also painted?

  3. there have been soo many of these but i just never get sick of them…i wish my city would do cool things like that

  4. These are really great – but it’s good to see as well the photos of them out of perspective(as you would if you approached from the wrong angle) – it shows the skill of the artist and the work involved.

  5. This is amazing, I’ve never seen anything like this. I dont get how people can do this. I like the basketball one and the waterfall ones the best.

  6. This guy is an artist. I’ve seen a lot of Julian’s drawings. Sometimes he makes few mistakes, as in the one of the chocolate, where the figure doesn’t look regular.
However, I really love his job. Plus the chocolate seems exquisite.

  7. 3D Floorgraphics are a favour of mine. Its truely a unique way to transform the floor into sth special. I see more and more companies are using this technique for their Instore advertising or Out of Home media campaigns, too. It seems though that you dont have to hire a chalk-artist anymore. This kind of 3D image can be produced for mass usage as well. Checkout http://www.shapeshiftermedia.com for example. This german design company is providing the services for the creation of this kind of street ads as 3d floor stickers.

  8. #7, the snow isnt real. if you look at the people, there is n snow blocking them. and it ends at a certain point.

  9. If you notice on the table one, the flower petals extend slightly over the table. FREAKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. Imagine if you saw the hobo but then you thought it was a real hobo on the road so you swerved out of the way, that would not be good…

  11. the one with the homeless man looks a bit unrealistic. His head looks flat and doesnt show much shadow… Otherwise all of these are really AWESOME!!

  12. I FREAKING LOVE THESE I COULD STARE AT THEM FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!!!! AND ONCE I LICKED ONE AND IT WAS SO GOOD I WANT MORE!!!

  13. OMG I luv 3D chalk drawings. That chocolate looks soooo real too. Mmm. Hey ma, get me some chocolate now!!! J.K. ;)
