Wonderful 3D Pencil Drawing

Props go to Marcus for discovering and sharing this wonderful 3d pencil drawing created by reddit user fnord-prefect. Totally realistic if you ask me, it almost lures you to try and look under the table to see the rest of the greek columns bursting out from the paper grid. I totally love this one. How about you?

  1. I think this is fake. It’s just a picture of a paper with a 3d model applies above. You can seea sharp edge in the shadows of the first column in the left, result of a bad Photoshop montage.

  2. I love it too. it looks so cool. wish i could draw as well as that. if i tried i bet they would look like demolished flattened buildings lol!

  3. Brilliant! I’m a horrible drawer, kudos to whoever drew this. I’m still having trouble thinking it’s a pencil drawing. I wonder if it looks the same at a different angle?

  4. Though I do think it is on the paper, I don’t believe it’s a pencil drawing. The shadow is too perfect. I think it was distorted in a program such as photoshop and printed onto a piece of paper and viewed at the correct angle

  5. Very clever! To all those people talking about Photoshop, look!! this is a FLAT 2D drawing you are looking at. In effect, it is a drawing of a drawing. Seeing it from another viewpoint would produce the same picture. The basket, etc, is no more 3D than the columns. Anything else you think you see is an illusion – that’s why it is so brilliant!

  6. It would have been nice to see a photo from a different angle as well, for comparison. But I can understand not everyone desires his illusions to be seen out of there magical context.

  7. sorry to say but fake. While the concept is possible, this isn’t real and wasn’t drawn like this. someone pulled the wool over plenty of eyes.
