We Have Some Walt Disney Visitors!

I’m glad to tell you that we have a guest crowd of Walt Disney characters among us today. Although, by seeing below image, most of you will almost instantly recognize Donald Duck, I’m sorry to tell you he was the only one who missed the party. Don’t know the reason, but even his Shadow was present. Perhaps he was aware that we can see him in an illusionary way, so didn’t bother visiting. Person who submitted this, Johan ten Hove has said he planned to send this optical illusion for a long time, but only recently did. As many of you do, Johan additionally thanked me for a “great website“. I appreciate all such comments, and they give me motivation and strength to continue doing my job efficiently. So stay tuned! BTW, I’m fixing some design errors on the site, so check if it looks better in IE, and Chrome now. Any suggestions?

  1. Great pic! (And even better site!)
btw. I have used chrome AND firefox, one on other computer and one on other. But I never noticed, were there difference with something?

    1. it can cuz the deer * 4got the name* and mickeys wond join up and make the shape of the add :P dont worry i was like that to but i looked close like 3 times and saw it….just saying no hate C:Xx

  2. i want to help you if you want a translation is the DD after new year its from dutch to english

‘happy new year from us al’

and btw it is a verry cool picture

  3. At first, a great website, I use the iGoogle gadget. I’ts a nice one to see all the Disney figures in one picture. The text on the side is dutch btw, for those who want to know it says: Happy New Year from us all.

    Keep up the good posting.

  4. Hey I love Donald Duck! His pupils are Mickey’s ears, his mouth (or gueule) is Goofy. Smart drawing, but it’s made very easy by showing the shadow.

  5. Awesome picture all the old disney characters but donald is gangsta he’s like my shadow can go im to popular lool

  6. Oops. This was particularly disconcerting. First, I do not really realize what it’s amazing that the picture is, but then I looked out over the shade, then back to “face”, which became a shadow, then I went about twenty centimeters backwards and so it Duckin Donald!

  7. This isn’t very good, IMO. The outlines don’t match, and there’s no reason for the colors in the foreground image to be so dull.

  8. Wow, took me about 10 minutes to figure this one out (which is a long time for me), then i figured out they looked like donald duck, lol.

  9. very nice!!!! very very nice.. and i like the fact that his shadow is complete though his eyes are the absense of any other character.. i hope you understand me…

    great one! keep it up

  10. This is very ironic bc before i went on the computer i was messing with hand shadows for a while. And the last time I did that was over a year ago.
    Hmmmn…

  11. Great, I like this one! Especially because it is a Dutch one ^^

A translation for the non-dutch guys:
on the right it says ‘Happy new year from us all’

  12. Looks good!
It’s the dutch version, it says: “Happy newyear from all of us!” (don’t know the right grammar)

  13. thats amazing…. had to look at a real pic of donald duck to see it though. the eyes and bowtie are clever.

  14. Very COOL!!!

However the shadow is missing the light that would be shinning through to be the eyes and some of the detail of the shaddow lines of the scarf and other areas.

    Good Job

  15. Nice one, The eyes had me fooled there for a minute.
This is a Dutch issue, but I guess this image was used worldwide because it seems so ingeniously constructed. Would be a shame to use such a nice image just in one issue.

  16. The shadow is Donald, and the characters are positioned weird. Cross your eyes and look at the picture…. Voila who suddenly appears??? Great trick… first one I get to comment on first(almost) :-)

  17. This was the cover of the first Dutch Donald Duck magazine of the year. I live in the Netherlands and my brother also has a subscription to the Donald Duck magazine, so I immediately recognized this one. The Dutch text says: ‘Happy new year from all of us!’ Great to see a Dutch illusion on this site! (although all the Escher prints are Dutch too, of course). I really like this site, everyday I view the illusion from my google home page, so please continue with it!

  18. Love that all the characters create the Donald Duck silouette… it was easier to notice on the thumbnail picture on my igoogle page though. You have to ignore the fact that its all the other characters and see them as plain black… its so neat!

  19. Thanks to the person who mentioned Mickey’s ears form the pupils.
I couldnt see the illusion until I focused on the pupils.
    Nice.

  20. Hey, great site! I love this pic…one of my friends showed it to me the day before you posted. I have no clue how she found it but I have it as my wallpaper now. Keep up the good work!

  21. I totally thought it was a walrus skating on ice or something. I didn’t see Donald Duck till i read some of the posts. Can any one else see the walrus in the shadow

  22. Hahaha i love it!!!Dude, do you realize that certain amount of people are using ur -BTW- its so funny, and half the people reinforced the translation hahaha.
I´ve been following u for a long time (that sounds a little bit stalker right? lol) but ur illussions are the best dude, im always showing it all around. Keep like that!!! i lov yaaa
Greetings from snowy long island!!! =)

  23. Een Nederlandse Illusie! dacht dat er geen 1 te vinden zou zijn.

    Super al deze Illusies!

(A Dutch Illusion, I thought there wouldn’t be one on this site

    Amazing all this illusions!)

  24. The big problem is, not all of these are Walt Disney cartoon characters! I see a Warner Brothers character that forms Donald’s sailer’s collar and that WB cartoon is none other than an early Bugs Bunny. NOT Br’er rabbit (also NOT a Walt Disney character) as some one mentioned.

  25. The rabbit is br’er rabbit and is a disney character, he appeared in the mouth song of the south, he is not bugs bunny.
