The Dark Knight Rises Teaser

Mr. Mike Libbey, one of our loyal contributing fans, has just informed me how Warner Bros recently published new teaser poster for their Batman franchise. Titled The Dark Knight Rises, the film is scheduled non-sooner than summer of 2012, which I find too distant in future to pay any attention. Still, the poster holds one awesome optical illusion! The illusion is more obvious than not, and those of you using our “Optical Illusion of The Day” widget will probably spot it immediately! What I adore in these commercial billboard/ads type of illusions, is how professional and modern they are. After all, big companies like Warner wouldn’t want some low-profile media agencies deal with their campaign, wouldn’t they? If you like what you see, be sure to check full-size original poster which can be found here. If you’re lucky enough to own A2 paper printing machine, you just might print this and hang it somewhere in your room!

  1. wheres the illusion? To me its just a picture of buildings that someone has manipulated to increase/shape the skyline to fit with the theme, thats no different to advertising logos painted on cars. Pretty ordinary and boring.

    1. The so called illusion is the outline of the Superman logo hidden in the poster. It is just below the left wing. Look close it’s there.

    2. @Jenny
The main part of it is the Batman logo, yes, but they managed to sneak in a more hidden Superman logo. Check out the left side.

    3. I do not see superman logo. But I do see left side under right Wing a girls face that’s what I think the illusion is.

  2. I think it is a twofold illusion actually, besides the obvious batman symbol created by the pattern of crumbling buildings. From afar, or in miniture as it appeared on my igoogle page, the buildings look like smashed glass with a batman symbol in the middle. I imagine this would be particularly effective on bus stops!

  3. I’m a massive fan of the Batman films so might be a little bit biased in saying that the poster is Fantastic. It is obvious but so what? The effect is still great.

    1. OK! TO THE BATMOBILE ROBIN! * runs with someone dressed as robin and runs to a car and drives to a cave *

  4. I saw this other day, and thought, it should be on Mighty Optical Illusion- and good enough, it is! :-]

    Really neat……

  5. Batman???…well first i though it seeing he thumbnail that was an ugly unicorne or some horse but its clearly a bat.

  6. It only took a moment to see it, but I wouldn’t say it’s more obvious than not – I had to do a double take! The bigger size first pathway helps.

  7. sometimes what this site classifies as an optical illusion baffles me. this isn’t an illusion. It’s a design.

  8. The Superman logo is just below the tip of the left wing. Some think it is hidden in there to “tease” that the same writers for TDKR will be doing the next installment of Superman in the ‘The Man of Steel’ in 2013.

  9. Somebody already pointed out…

  10. hahaha!! @togno that flying unicorn made me laugh so much. the only thing i see now when i look at that poster is a flying unicorn…. thanks XD

  11. all i see now is the unicorn!! or the batman signal when i look in the middle!! or buildings when i look at the top of its head!!
or the superman logo when i look just below the left wing ( or right to him ) it looks like an explosion or a fart from the unicorn XD!!!!!

  12. I do not see the superman logo but I do see under the right wing on left side of photo there’s a girls face it’s looks like she needing help. Look closer. That’s the illusion.
