Black & White Anagram/Ambigram

I’ve asked you on numerous occasions, and you explained it to me even more times than I asked, yet I can’t seem to remember if this type of illusion belongs to anagram or ambigram section. I remember the difference between these two, yet can’t distinguish which one does what. I’m sure many of you will ask why don’t you simply google it?, but as I explained many times – I prefer reading your comments, giving me opportunity to enjoy different-angled comments and somehow makes me feel more connected to you guys. Anyway, check out the anagram/ambigram below, and see what you can come up with!

Real-life Jesus Afterimage

There’s an old saying which points that keeping your mouth shut, is better than telling much without saying anything. Would you buy it, if I told you this was the sole reason you were deprived of new optical illusion yesterday? Naaah, didn’t think you would ;) The real cause is I’m having some workers over my new place, so have to stay with them at the “construction” site, and give guidelines how I want my things done.

Suzanne sent us an interesting animated gif, which is identical to Babunda’s video submission. Check out the animation on your right. Wait for it to cycle back to colorized version, and then stare at the black dot for few seconds. After some time, identical black and white portrait will appear, but if you followed my procedure correctly, you’ll be able to see Jesus in full color! Don’t take me for granted, but I think #Jesus is one of the most occurring tags in our archives. It would be safe to say we are in need for new category to contain these. Rainbow Ghost Optical Illusion

You might remember back in 2007, when John Shadowsky introduced us for the first time to the new kind of optical illusion he invented. I’m talking about one that gave us ability to see black and white photos in full color! This is the closest you get to having super-hero powers. It was really an extraordinary value added to the optical illusions field, but also an interesting phenomena brought to attention of those studying visual sciences. The below rainbow is just one of many emerging samples, based on John’s discovery.

To see this optical illusion in it’s full capacity, wait for the animated .gif to loop to its start. You’ll know you’re there when you see a full colored rainbow appear. Now stare at the center dot for few seconds, and at one time the animation will switch. But don’t move your eyes from central dot just yet! What do you see? If you followed my procedure precisely, sooner or later you’ll find out that the animation below consists of two similar images. Only difference between them, is that one is in color, and the other is black and white. After staring at the color rainbow’s central dot, negative colors burnt in your retina, and you were able to see the black and white photo in full color!

Another Mysterious Fleck

This one’s so simple, yet so hard to see if you don’t know what you are looking for. I haven’t spot the optical illusion until I read the solution that came with it. Don’t worry, it’s nothing abstract. Just when you spot what is hidden in this image, you won’t be able not to see it after that anymore – ever. Even if someone showed you this very same image years from now. Most of the similar ones were linked in our previous Mystery Dots article, so head there if you liked this one. I can give you a slight hint, though. Check this category to adjust your way of thinking ;)

Audi R8 Optical Illusion

When I announced that you can expect more classy optical illusions in the future, this is just what I had in mind. Before we start, I’d like to thank Xaver Nitsch for creating this original optical illusion just for us! Now, I’m perfectly aware we already had dozen of relative sizes illusions. We even had a very similar one including Range Rovers. BTW, this is where Xaver probably got his inspiration in the first place… But wait! This one is different. I won’t explain it though, I’m just gonna ask you a simple question – Which one of these three Audi’s (R8) do you think is the largest? Don’t rush, take your time. I have included an expandable solution just below the original image. When you think you know what is going on here, you may expand the box containing the answer. Be aware that the answer image is actually an animation. Wait for a few seconds before it starts. What do you think of this illusion now? Was this what you expected?

Black and White Spanish Castle in Color Illusion

This has to be one of the coolest illusions ever! To my knowledge, John Sadowski is the original creator of this type of illusions. This is how it works: just stare at the dot for 30 seconds. This is animated gif file, that keeps repeating infinately. After about 20 seconds, grey scaled image of spanish castle will appear, but as your eyes adapt to the inverted image you were seeing first, you will see black&white image change to COLOR! Amazing!
