Seems we got ourselves featured by the Yahoo front page yesterday! No wonder for all those hundreds of thousands of visitors coming in for the last few hours. Even our iPhone/iPad App got hundreds of downloads during the last 24h. Amazing… Anyway, here’s an illusion I wanted to show you for some time now, but never did. Perhaps it’s because once you see it, there’s no going back. And it seems I forgot if it was amazing enough, before I understood the illusion it hides. I better let you decide… So, can you guess what all those strange shapes stand for? Got this awesome illusion in my mailbox recently, and boy was surprised when I realized how I could actually read those strange symbols! Give it a try and report your findings. What I’m more interested in, is how the hell can our brain decrypt this!? Is it the negative spaces? If someone is more knowledgeable regarding this topic, would be nice to hear your idea… Those of you still struggling, here is a little hint.

Chinese Sign Optical Illusion

As I have promised yesterday, new day – new optical illusion! Can you read this Chinese sign on your left? Sure you can! A little self-confidence and some flexing of the muscles in your neck, should do the trick. No additional hints further!

I took some time and added “Symbol” tag to some previous optical illusions that in their nature are similar to this one. If you follow the link, you may find few more “Chinese” illusions there. This should help you further identify the optical illusion used in this sample.

If you didn’t notice, the title of this post contains “Part II” – You guessed, there is Part I as well.

BTW I’ve heard some positive suggestions from you guys. For example: how I should disable the picture from showing its filename, or disable the tags below each post (sometimes they spoil the puzzle). As eager I may be to do that, I’m still not sure if this would be possible. Sure, its easy to remove the tags or simply name the image “xgzgf” or something, but all these tags are necessary for SEO (Google search engine). Seems I’ll have to find another way of masking those…

Pseudo Arabic Optical Illusion

The sun has finally showed up, so I’m just about to take my roller skates, and go out skating with my beloved one. But before I do, here is another optical illusion of the day. If you remember, we helped you learn Chinese recently, and perhaps with our help you even learned Cyrillic. Not to mention how few years ago we helped you gain knowledge of Japanese language. This time it’s my sacred duty to reveal the mystery behind Arabic letters. Most of you perceive Arabic as some mumbo-jumbo, where letters appear very strange. Well, to tell you the truth it isn’t so hard at all. The secret not so many people know, is that the language has much in common with English language. Try tilting your head for 180 degrees, and then read what this picture below says. That’s it – now you can officially read another language. Remember this tip next time you’re visiting far East. It may come in handy. What does this sign say?

Russian Cyrillic Optical Illusion

Hey people! We had some issues with our RSS feed last few days, that prevented the feed from updating with newest articles, thus resulting in your widgets not showing the latest illusion. Advertising company that goes under the name of “Lowe Bull” (South Africa), produced an interesting advertisement for this Russian Vodka, and placed it on the walls facing bathroom mirrors in pubs and clubs. If you look directly to the poster, you’ll probably only see some mumbo-jumbo in Cyrillic Alphabet. Right after you give up, use the toilet, and are just about to wash your hands or face, you look at the mirror in front you.

Everything is clear now, and you haven’t got a slightest problem reading the poster. It says: “Men Don’t Drink and Drive“. How could you missed it the first time, you ask yourself? Was it because you were so drunk, and only after washing your face it got you sober enough to read it? Probably it hits you then. You finally understand how they fooled you, and that everything was just a mind trick and an illusion. Never the less, the message got through to you, and you’ll surely remember this ad.

I have to give props to the person responsible for this creative advertising idea. Like I always repeat myself, optical illusions in adverting are guaranteed way to get some exposure for your message. Be sure to remember this if you work for a media company.

Learn Chinese the Easy Way with Berlitz

Have you seen this advertisement by language school named Berlitz? Apparently, with their help, learning Chinese becomes more than easy! Look at the poster below. This ten-second course for example, already gave you enough knowledge to read the Chinese street signs. Subtlety is great, and it sure conveys the message. Another example can be found inside this article. Not so good place to get lost in the night is Tokyo. At the first glance, you can’t even read the neon signs. Or can you? Hehe, just to clear some things – I live in Croatia so the law probably differs in your country. Now that we made this clear, I’d like to ask you if you recognize the mysterious symbols below? No, its not Japanese again. If you concentrate enough, you’ll manage to translate the following symbol-constructed message our little alien friend submitted. If you have trouble recognizing the illusion here, I recommend passing “Eye Exam” first, and if this still didn’t help – continue reading the article, and you’ll see the solution after the break. Symbols of Mystery Optical Illusion

Got this image recently, composed out of some strange “alien looking” symbols. If I had no experience with optical illusions, I would consider this nothing more than plain gibberish. But since illusions are something I consider “my expertise“, immediately have I remembered my “Eye Examination Test” – which can be found inside optical illusion Tests. Tests category is section we mention rarely, really. Still, some of my favorite posts from early days can be found inside. Anywayz, back to the topic; if you have no clue how this image is even considered optical illusion, I recommend visiting some of the previous posts I mentioned in this text. Ok, did my duty, gave you newest illusion, and now I’m off to prepare for my Birthday – it’s tomorrow, and since its already 22h, this means 2 more hours and I’ll be 24! For old time followers, this I bet is something you didn’t know. Now if you are regular visitor, you may already know which country I live in, my age and my educational status :)
