It has passed so much time since we last talked about them, the irony is we probably need to re-introduce Julian Beever, a pioneer artist when it comes to anamorphic pavement art. I’m not exactly sure when was the first time I introduced you to Julian Beever, but if you check this tag – you’ll see this artist was featured dozen of times on this site. 3D Chalk drawings category consists of many different chalk artists, but in my belief Julian still holds the crown position (in quality and originality). Do you share my view? Since Julian is very busy, his new creations are regularly posted on Mighty Optical Illusions homepage. I have included a small gallery, which includes five of his newest drawings. Which is your favorite one? I like the first one the most. Its becoming more and more popular for big companies to hire chalk artists to do promotion of their new product. Just check these campagins for “Orange“, “Ballantine“, “Johnny Walker“, “Journey to the Center of the Earth“… Marketing professionals are finally becoming real experts!

Probably you are already familiar with the news break of Michael Jackson’s death. I give it to him, he was truly one of the biggest music contributors in our history, yet I feel somehow divided about the atmosphere floating around his name currently. Things he was accused for while living, are the most disturbing ones human being can digest. He was never a positive individual in my opinion, yet millions of people talk about him like he was a saint. I would like to ask them would they every let Michael babysit their kids? Am not sure whether all this is inappropriate to say at the current moment, and this is why I started this topic with the fact I still have divided thoughts on this. Still, it puzzled me so had to share it with you guys. If you wish to comment my standings, please do so without flaming. Brainstorming, discussions and reflections are more than welcome, though. Now when I spilled my guts, we can continue with optical illusion of the day.

Few days ago I have my Ultimate Mural Gallery with you. I’m happy to inform you this was only an intro to much more expected post (at least by your emails) containing NEW SIDEWALK DRAWINGS. Ballantine’s 3D Chalk Drawing Illusion

Having so much visitors is awesome, the only problem is how to bring in new followers, and keep the regular ones coming back for more. Great deal of you follow this website through some sort of widget, or even more often – through your own RSS reader. This gives you an advantage: you instantly see that the new optical illusion has been posted, and you rush to the site to see it’s explanation, perhaps see more illusions attached inside the post, and possibly leave a comment. Well, the problem occurs on my end. You see the newest illusion, click few of the related underlined links, and then you leave. Then I have to figure out which new optical illusion to post in less than 24 hours, not to loose my steady traffic. This ofcourse isn’t any of your concern, but leaves me tense about continuously finding new content, and asking my self will you like it or not. Well, this is how it goes, and probably won’t change a bit. If you wish to help, you can continue stumbling our content, or email me if you’d like to help me with some guest articles. I managed to find only one new Christmas related illusion on the net, and the one I found should be good enough for this post. Julian Beever’s New 3D Sidewalk Paintings

Every now and then we post amazing set of 3D sidewalk paintings done usually by chalk artist Julian Beever. These things never get old, and always manage to fascinate. I collected dozen of photos never before seen on this site, and integrated them in this article. All look amazing to me, but I liked the “World” one the best. Is it your favorite too? If I missed any of his creations, be sure to notify me, but before you do this, check if I already posted them to the “3D Sidewalk Art” category. Another thing I noticed, is that this particular artist always poses next to his creations (when finished) in a very original way! Julian Beever’s Sidewalk Rafting Illusion

Lately we haven’t heard anything new from Julian Beever and his 3d sidewalk chalk-paintings. But today I found out he has just finished his latest piece of art for Charleston Festival 2007. His masterpieces never stop shocking me with their incredible 3D realism. You have to remember, all of his paintings are anamorphic, and if you look back at from above, or simply from different angle, you’ll see just an ordinary bulged painting. This photo set (more pictures inside the post) is one of my new favorites. Look, he even added a crocodile awaiting his prey. Spiderman To The Rescue

Being 100% honest, I’m not really sure if this optical illusion was already featured on the site. As you see Julian Beever is up his best, again. You had a chance to see his unbelievably amazing sidewalk drawings, not once but few times. As you see, the newest creation involves superhero we all love – Spiderman. The closest illusion I could find, would be Batman and Robin one.

Off topic: both Google Gadget and Dashboard Widget now work perfectly. To use them, you will just have to to re-download them. Download new Mac Dashboard Widget (remove the old one), install it, and voila! New Google Gadget should update itself and work without your intervention, but if it didn’t by now, simply re-add it to your Google Homepage and it will.

Julian Beever does His Best… Again!

Julian Beever is at it again! This time he made two new wonderful 3D chalk drawings. I love this kind of street art. If you jump inside this article you can see realistic lobster illustration, with additional photo from different point of view. Check out this chalk drawing illusion of a Sony Vaio Laptop computer. Looks like the top part of the screen is just jumping off the sidewalk! More Pictures Inside this article! It’s hard to believe there is no water on the sidewalk below! The hose, drain, puddle… everything is painted on the sidewalk by Julian!

Is that guy spraying chalk fixative onto that fly… or is it another Chalk Drawing Illusion? That’s pretty incredible, but I think you’ll find that some of the other artists captured the optical illusion even more realistic!

This could certainly be the best self portrait I have ever seen.Imagine how long it took the artist to figure out exactly how to do this in perspective. It would surely have been great to see this art exibit in person!

This is an amazing optical illusion picture of a woman swimming in the pool, sipping her coke. Check out the artist as he is just about to jump right into the painting! Yet another Magic Trick

Although the seal doesn’t look incredibly realistic, it sure looks like it is popping up out of the water handing the artist a fresh cola after days of hard work.

How would you like to be walking down the sidewalk and then suddenly fall into a hole like these guys? Take a little closer look at who has fallen into the hole. It’s tough to tell but it looks like George W. Bush and John Major, the former British Prime Minister have fallen into the hole…. and is that Tony Blair looking into the camera? Regardless, this sidewalk optical illusion is just downright incredible!
