It’s one of those “When You See It…” type of photos that really had me puzzled at first. But then when it suddenly popped-out, I spilled my coffee all over myself. So how long did it take before you were able to see it? If you can ignore the meaning just for a second, I think you’ll agree it’s one of the better submissions we saw lately. Agree? Huge props to Michael J. Höller for bringing this to my attention via our FB channel.

Richard Borwick discovered another phenomenal optical illusion this morning. Sure, we’ve seen the effect in action couple of times before, but then again – how often do you come across incredibly original optical illusions? Not often I guess… Still, what I’ve found so great about his discovery is how innocent it looks at first glance. Almost as if there was no evidence of the hidden illusion it holds… But wait! What if you blurred your vision just for a second? Go cross-eyed, blur your stare or simply step few feet back from your monitor. Now what you see? It has to be magic, right? Just when you’re done, be sure to share his identity…

Spot The Black and White Cows!

This optical illusion picture was taken from the Little Giant Book of Optical Illusions by Keith Kay, where it was originally presented as a puzzling pattern containing hidden black and white cows. As easy it was for me to spot the one hidden cow in it (what’s with all them cow illusions?!), I was never able to see any other cows present. What do you make of it? BTW, this kind of Rorschach Test optical illusions proved quite popular in our archives, so make sure you check our spot the object category for more -they should be buried somewhere in there…

Garstripes Optical Illusion

Commentator who goes under the name Koaieus left an intriguing image on one of our last posts. Even though I prefer illusion submissions sent in through ordinary email, I suppose it can be done this way too. Anyway, this one was really hard to see. Can you spot the hidden motive beneath the layering stripes? It sure took some time before I could see it. Be sure to un-focus your vision, and lean to the side while observing the given example. If you’re still having hard time seeing it, check out the title – perhaps it might help!

Toast Stereogram Illusion

All the way back in 2007 Mourits de Beer noticed how there aren’t many stereograms on our website. I apologize to Mourits for waiting so long for his illusion to be featured, but being frank – I completely overlooked his submission. This illusion might just look like a normal slice of toast to the untrained eye, but once you look closely (and cross your eyes properly) … well … you’ll see. The sole reason why I have problem posting these, as once stated – is because I have trouble seeing them correctly, so am not aware if illusion is appropriate or not. This might be a great opportunity for you to outline the hidden image, and post the solution via our new function that enables you to attach images directly inside your comments!

Hidden Word Optical Illusion

So it seems I was the only one seeing our previous post puzzling? What can I tell you – I still see a turtle. Alrighty then. I had this one on my desktop for a while, but considered it too hard to share. Let’s see you smart-asses figure this one out! There is a hidden word in the picture below. What does it say? Can you read it without any help? Hope my “revenge” works, and no-one solves it! Grrrr… I won’t give you any hints because you pissed me of with the last one ;) but experts will know how to file them, erm… I meant, find them. Check this one for vague similarities.

Spooky Undershirt Optical Illusion

A rather light optical illusion for you today – it’s Monday after all. So, as I received this image in my mailbox without any additional description, I wondered to myself why was it submitted in the first place. I haven’t found anything interesting about it. Then my younger brother gazed a look, and instantly saw something spooky in it. When he helped me find it myself, I felt dumb not seeing it the first time. Really nice photo, though surely must have been photoshopped. Can you see the illusion it holds? Shouldn’t be too hard. Once you spot it, you’ll have no problem seeing it over, and over again.

The Hidden Tiger Illusion

I just finished posting an interesting Interactive Magic Trick, on Mighty Tricks homepage, and now came here to update you with newest optical illusion for today. I just hope it already became your habit to check both websites when one is updated. This is because I update both sites at the same time, just one after another. I’m sorry that in every post I babble about Mighty Tricks website, but you have to realize that it’s a new project of mine, and I’m just trying to make it more popular, informing wider public about it. Now let’s jump to our new illusion. For today I prepared an interesting spot the object painting, created by American wildlife artist Rusty Rust, that shows a huge Bengal Tiger standing in a bamboo forest. We had a similar Lion Illusion, Panda Bears Illusion, Wolves Illusion, and many more… If you are asking yourself why Rusty named this picture “The Hidden Tiger“, your assignment is to figure out why! When you find it – comment, just don’t reveal the secret, so other users can have fun spotting it too.
