It’s because I dislike repeating myself. In his newest installation, the buildings in the town of Vercorin in the Swiss Alps contribute to this impressive piece. The set was called Cercle et suite d’éclats. But what I recon interests you the most, is how all of this was turned into practice. Well, the pattern was projected on the town from the vantage point, and then traced and painted. If you shoot a photo from the same spot in daylight, you’ll quickly realize how the town looks flat – almost like a postcard. The interesting part is how he got the whole town to approve this? The problem has been located and fixed in less than 30 minutes by Mr. Devicedeveloper from Elance forums. I thank him greatly for this. Now, when we have fixed the widget, it has been sent to Yahoo for approval, and we are just waiting for them to approve the new version. You’ll be able to update in day or so, so stay tuned!

Also, we have finally passed 19 MILLION unique visitors, which means our little website has been visited by more people than some world countries have residents! Who would’ve guessed we have become so popular! Also, we have another present for you! I can’t reveal the details right now, but in a week or so everything should be set for announcement. Considering illusion part, I have uploaded some new stuff from Felice Varini, the guy that made those incredible 3D Rooms. You have to find the exact [...]]]> Just when I discovered this new Felice Varini’s ‘anamorphic illusion’ on Wooster Collective, reader called Steve submitted me the original BBC article about this optical illusion. Steve said it’s an art illusion done on a large scale, and added: “scroll through the photo set to see what I mean”. You have to find the exact spot in this Bay barrage to see the illusion perfectly, like in the first photo below. Other photos inside this article show you how this “art installation” looks like, when viewed from other places. As I said, the piece was done by the Swiss artist Felice Varini on the Cardiff Bay barrage, and ran between March 11 and 25th. I posted much more of Varini’s performances before. Many of them like 3D painted rooms, and buildings painted in circles can be found inside our “3D Sidewalk Art” category. Also, be sure to check the Wooster Collective, since it’s very similar in topic to our little community. I even asked them that we form some kind of partnership or link exchange. These illusion pictures were taken in Place de l’Odeon, Paris, or at least one of them is. Looks like someone took a huge marker and drew a couple of lines on the images! Circles, lines, squares look perfectly lined up only if you view them from one particular viewpoint. Preivously: “Body Art”, “Lines in The Street”…
