I always loved Rusty’s illusory paintings, mostly because they look so nice, and all of them carry special atmosphere surrounding them. Rusty’s works sometimes include hard to find hidden stuff, but most of the time the illusion is simple and not so hard to spot at all! Yet each of his works turns out beautiful! Check the awkwardly named “Two Birds With One Stone” piece portrayed below. The huntsmen and his dog are preying on the harmless pheasant, while at the same time not being aware there is much bigger forest spirit guarding over the poor prey, carefully observing next step hunter is about to make. Jauria Rock Band Illusion

Juan Ezequiel Lozano sent in this logo as a contribution for our little community. What you see below is a logo of an Argentinian rock band named “Jauría”, which btw means pack of hounds. Perhaps this logo isn’t very complicated, yet I really love the idea! Concerning the site, I finally started being little more proactive on our Twitter account, so be sure to start following @Moillusions if you still haven’t!

How Many Dogs Are There?

I’m glad to notice how many of you listened to my suggestion, and implemented those little Gravatar icons which now show up next to your comment. Your comments look much more personal now, and distinguish themselves proudly among bunch of other comments. Rest of you who’d like to add a little icon next to their comment as well, simply head here and upload your personal avatar, which will automatically show up each time you leave a comment on a WordPress blog like mine.

That being said, let’s see what Vurdlak has prepared for you today… Remember the Confused Elephant, one with so many legs he forgot how to use them? Now mix him with those Impossible Shelves, add an animation and present the results in man best friend way – and this is what you come up with: Impossible Dogs animation. How many dogs do you see in this picture? Is there something wrong with them? Can you spot the illusion immediately? Looking forward to hear your comments!

Mysterious Dots Optical Illusion

So the picture below supposedly came from an old book: The Intelligent Eye, written by Gregory R. Unless you already saw this flick before, in all likelihood it won’t make much sense. It seems as if we are only seeing hundreds of black patches on a white background. But once you spot the illusion, you can’t go back. This example demonstrates the amazing capability of our visual system to organize visual input into interpretable shape. If you still can’t see it, the only hint I can give you, is to check these two articles about Sheldrake first. I’m not sure if this one was already posted sometime in the past, but if it was – my mistake!

After checking the results of our previous poll, I’m happy to learn that most of you do like my personal, offtopic touch. However, 30% of you dislike my unrelated comments, and since this number is too high to ignore, I’m proposing the following… From now on, I’ll give my best to divide the article in two paragraphs. First one referring to the illusion and it’s background story, while the other one (much like what I’m writing today) will contain unrelated babbling. Will this make both sides equally happy?

Frontline’s Interactive Optical Illusion

If you are a dog lover, and have your own best friend like I do – reading about Frontline will surely ring a bell. Those of you who aren’t informed well enough, well basically its an anti-flea substance that keeps your dog safe from all kind of parasites. Perhaps cat owners use it to protect their pets as well, dunno. Explaining all of this was necessary before I introduce you with today’s optical illusion. As you see, Frontline painted this mega billboard on the floor of a major mall. This ad wouldn’t make much sense if there were no people to interact with it, but since their painting was placed on the floor of such a mass-trafficked location – the results make lot of sense. Hope you liked this one, I just had to share it with you (maybe just a poor excuse to link a photo of my dog within this text ;) Enjoy!

Hunter and His Prey Illusion

What each blogger experiences throughout his writing career, and what is currently happening to me is a lack of motivation and writer’s block. I’m kind of a webmaster that keeps his motivation by constantly “inventing” something, and having new ideas for this site. Don’t get me wrong – I’m perfectly aware this site is far from being perfect, but somehow I’m not particularly sure where to tunnel my motivation next. This is where you jump in: I would like as many of you possible, to suggest me what would you like to see more of on this website. Is it more optical illusions articles, new template functions, more videos? Featured games maybe? The idea I’m stuck with for some time now, is figuring how to find professional writers to help me write new articles. I’m capable of paying for each article, but I’m very picky about who I let access to this website. Is it so hard to find a person that does a good job writing stuff, had some experience with WordPress and would like to get payed for their work? Apparently it is. But let’s not change the subject. What I’m asking from you (apart from spotting the hunter’s prey in the optical illusion below), is to post your suggestions and ideas what would you like to see on this website, and keep moillusions.com as one of your favorite online destinations? Help me get some tasks, and I’ll be more than glad to brainstorm and figure out how to implement them.

ImPAWsible – Visions Of Earth

Alex Kirkbridge took this beautiful photo for July’s 2006 edition of National Geographic Magazine. It’s orignally called “Visions Of Earth” and shows Bubba, a big fox terrier, while he is cooling his feet during a game of swimming-pool fetch in Crystal River, Florida. Light shining into the pool creates a mirror on the underside of the water’s surface, giving the dog his four-legs look. Friend of mine sent me this picture, you should check more of them here.
