As always, greeenpro continues to amaze us with his regular optical illusion video creations. One of his latest flicks includes a spooky coffee can that follows you as you move across the room. If you never saw this effect in action before, I promise you’ll be amazed!

Think it all started with the Little Green Dragon from our very beginnings, but I could be wrong. Einstein’s face illusion was as effective, and afterwards much more examples followed. One of my favorites was the “Janek’s Nuts” video. Check them all out once you finish viewing the video below! Trippy Beans Wallpaper Comic

I love funny comics. I love them even more when they use an optical illusion as part of the joke. One such perfect example is this psychiatric session comic, sent to me recently by my friend Marin. I’m pretty sure we’ve already featured the floating beans wallpaper at some point in time, but today’s example puts the “seemingly animated” pattern in completely different surrounding – a shrink’s office! So, have you been drinking much coffee lately?

Nestle’s Nescafe Illusory Poster

Kahla Glasheen has been following this site each day for a couple of years now. One thing Kahla noticed is that we never featured one particular historical illusion – a poster Nestle created for their Nescafe coffee. After little research, it turns out this poster originates all the way back in 1930s. The illusion is intuitive, and in fact you should be ablre notice it quite easily. Yet the beauty and simplicity of the poster is what I really liked about it!

One thing that surprised me was your reception of our recent cinemagraph illusion. I thought you’ll be astonished, mesmerized, surprised even, yet it seems I was wrong. The difference between simple animated .gif files and cinemagraphs is not easily distinguishable. However, having more luck than taste, seems I wasn’t so wrong after all. Some of our users noticed that this “Psycho” illusion holds another well hidden easter egg inside it – a frame featuring some sort of skull-ish X-ray layer, one that isn’t so obvious.

Have to admit, I never noticed this before! It’s such a shame you didn’t react positive on cinemagraph illusions, as I had few of them lined up to be published soon. The beauty behind them should lye in the fact that only single detail gets animated, while rest of the photo stays just what it is – a still photo. Apparently it takes lots of time to create them. Check out this gallery and see if I can change your opinion ;D

Coffee Illusion

I have just stumbled upon these two peculiar, coffee-related photos lying on my hard disk. Before I begin, let me share this interesting fact – Did you know that the coffee was first discovered in Northern Africa in an area we know today as Ethiopia? A popular legend refers to a goat herder by the name of Kaldi, who observed his goats acting unusually frisky after eating berries from a bush. Curious about this phenomena, Kaldi tried eating the berries himself, only to find out that these berries gave him a renewed energy.

The news of this energy laden fruit quickly spread throughout the region. Monks hearing about this amazing fruit, dried the berries so that they could be transported to distant monasteries. They reconstituted these berries in water, ate the fruit, and drank the liquid to provide stimulation for a more awakened time for prayer. So there you have it! I personally believe the truth lyes somewhere in between this legend and recorded history. Can you easily see the illusion in the photo on your right? I’ve already gave you much more help than you need!

Coffee Skull Optical Illusion

Most of our Windows users have downloaded the free “Optical Illusion of The Day” gadget, which is then positioned in corner of their desktops, and shows new optical illusion each day (or two). I’m proud to say by now we have had more than 390,000 downloads of our gadget, and have almost surpassed famous Dilbert! Rest of you who still haven’t tried this widget, be sure to check it out, and by doing so you’ll greatly help us increase our downloads counter. Guys that do marketing for Beans & Beyond created this funny little campaign featuring coffee beans and two mugs, which in the end resemble an owl. If you’re asking yourself what the heck owl has to do with coffee, I think the answer would be owls are awake during the night (as well as their eyes are usually wide open)!

Cosmopolitan Optical Illusion

Can you detect a hidden “illusion“ in these two photographs? It shouldn’t be too hard, and the illusion is quite similar in both images. It took me few seconds before I figured the cow one, so decided to share with you to test your senses. The only problem with these two, is once you figure them out, there’s no going back. Photoshopped? Most definitely!

Hidden Coffee Faces and Bugs

Long time viewers will immediately think of this optical illusion when they gaze their eyes on the photo below. Yes, it’s the same old principle, only last time you had to spot the hidden bean man. This time your goal is to find 3 lady bugs and 3 bean babies. Our latest submission is also part of the contest I mentioned earlier. It has been photoshopped, but this is irrelevant with these kind of puzzles. Btw, just found out this one was also created by Nasir Khan.

Sarcone’s 6 Visual Errors

Long time viewers will experience some kind of deja-vu when they see this one. Well, partly you’re right, partly you’re not. What we have here is a remake of Gianni A. Sarcone’s original “Impossible Table Stuff“. Be sure to check the tags beneath the post, more specifically the G. Sarcone one which will bring you to all of his illusions we posted before. This time there are 6 critical visual errors cleverly placed inside what seems to be an ordinary picture. Can you find them all?

Relative Coffee Cups

Before we start with fresh content, I’d like to encourage you all to use “Facebook Connect” button more often (when posting your comments). Probably you’ve also noticed that our comments section now includes profile photos. The problem is that very few actually took the time to set their profile photo. By using Facebook commenting system, your photos are automatically shown. This reduces the number of boring anonymous comments, and increases uniqueness inside your comments. If you aren’t such a Facebook fan, you can still grab your own Gravatar, and set your unique picture. Check it out! I’m sure you’ll love it.

Concerning the illusions, I found this one through Google image search. I really liked it. Now, if I started talking too much about it, the answer would become more than obvious. I wouldn’t like to ruin this one for you, so I’ll let you solve this by yourselves. All I can say is that it has something to do with Relative Sizes. Shouldn’t be too complicated, though.
