Just a short note before you read Pablo’s post. I did some small re-design today, as you can see (most obvious changes can be seen in sidebar). I’d like to hear your opinion? The changes I made are really microscopic, but I believe they improve positive experience everyone has with our little community. I also fixed some small glitches that occurred while viewing this site from Internet Explorer. Can you see the site properly from your browser? If possible send me your screenshots (of the moillusions.com home page) and inner, bottom pages so I can see how the site appears through different interfaces. I also added site/web search at the bottom of the sidebar. What is your opinion on all this? Any suggestions? Now on to Pablo’s article… – Vurdlak

You might think that there are a lot of skulls in this picture. If you did, you’re wrong! This is actually a bakery, and the breads form skulls. Also, the ‘skull’ in the middle is actually a woman that has a basket with a lot of bread on top of her head. There are also other types of bread (that I forgot their names, I think one of them is a baguette but I’m not sure) that form other things. I think this one belong is the ‘Spot the Object‘ or ‘Scary Illusions‘ category…Post any other hidden things you find -Pablo

Another one before I go to bed :) Hope the girl from the photo below comes to me in a dream and kisses me good-night. But wait, there is no girl below. Was it just my twisted imagination? I see the cat, its there – check. I see the legs – check. Or are the legs only nylon socks hanging from a window? Unfortunately. All the pieces combined in this black and white sympathetic illusion, form a young girls body that is in fact a mere illusion. Can you find any more interesting details? I’ll let you form a discussion yourselves. By the way, just found out that the author behind this is Sandro Del Prete. Good night

Do we have some visitors from Bombay on this website? I recently stumbled upon this interesting box of matches that holds multiple meaning illusion. Anyone encountered them in real life? I’m interested in your opinion – which of the faces you see first? Which one is harder to notice? I would go with the left one being harder to spot.

Concerning the website, as you see we have bunch of new people helping and providing articles. This way we have much more material to post, and we cover user submissions more efficiently. I’m just not sure if too many posts per day can make you, my visitors turn away from the site? What is your opinion on this? Also our daily visitor count has fallen over the past few days, so I would appreciate if you guys could help us out, and share the moillusions.com link through social bookmarking pages, your myspace profiles, forums your participate in, and in spoken word. This would be hugely appreciated, and we can give you compensation in a way of a gift, or something if you manage to bring additional visitors.

Your opinions and suggestions really count! I would like to share this positive example: we recently allowed pop-unders on this site as addtional source of revenue, but then reader Michael Duke complained that they are to intrusive, so we decided to pull them of. You see how every email can make a difference? Hope you realize we care for you!

Another co-editor decided to share his article with us! This time it is Yersen, who wrote his first post on Mighty Optical Illusions. I like the submission he wrote a recension of, because not only it is transparent screen, but also because it has some style and it is little artistic – Vurdlak

Hi everyone my name is Yerson, and I will be one of the Co-Authors on MoIllusions.com This time we have a very ingenious try of the typical illusion of picture of a picture. This image was sent by Beau Walsh, who said: “Hey I saw the picture of people holding pictures in front of themselves, so I thought I would try it myself. Hope ya like it!” In my opinion, the image is good but one thing I didn’t like about this illusion is the shirt, black and white!? Thank you Beau for sending us this illusion. Well I hope you’ll like my first post. Bye – Yersen

Everybody, please welcome Colin, our new guest blogger. He covered really interesting topic, new trend started by Michael Hughes, the author of these beautiful photos below. I wrote an article in the past about his Perspective Postcards , which you should definitely check. It’s more complex variation of “Relative sizes” illusions. Following you can read what Colin wrote. – Vurdlak

Hello!! I am Colin, the newest guest editor, so this is my first illusion post! :) Basically, here are some pictures of a bunch of souvenirs people can buy, placed in a real place where they might be encountered. Some of them are pretty cool! I think it’s interesting how some of the souvenirs fit exactly over something else, and others just fit in well. Here are some more great examples! I really like the Eiffel Tower one! Also check out the croissant and the Don Quixote tilting at windmill! Please be nice and thoughtful in your comments, instead of saying things like, “First Post”! – Colin

It seems as if Alperen is expert on body paint illusions. Or maybe just likes seeing beautiful women inside optical illusion photos (who can blame him). Well this time he posted full set of extraordinary and hard to believe photos. Which one do you like the best? – Vurdlak

Hey everyone! Its me Alperen again, with more body art illusions! Like the previous Piano Player Illusion it shows some more women with their bodies painted in beautiful ways. These will go to the body art category for sure! They are so colorful and pretty hard to see. I cant believe them! Come inside this post to see all of the pictures and leave lots of comments! – Alperen

So guys and gals, just a quick update for today. I found this interesting picture while browsing Google for optical illusions. There is a hidden celebrity somewhere inside this piece of art, more exactly we have a Queen among us. Can you spot her? It is Queen Victoria. When I first saw this image, I immediately spotted great resemblance with Napoleon’s Grave Illusion. If you have hard time spotting your assignment, you can check the Napoleon article for help – this one works in a same way.

I also noticed that lately we have many “real life” optical illusions. While they are proper, I somehow feel we are missing the touch we had with our first, regular, old-school posts. I’ll try to force more of them, so you don’t loose the grip following our real life variations. If you find some cool ones, be sure to submit them, and me or my co-editor crew will cover them.

Richard Murphy helped me remember of a mural I had intention writing more about. It is trompe-l’oeil which is at Georges V Ave. in Paris, France. Trompe-l’oeil is an art technique involving extremely realistic imagery in order to create the optical illusion that the depicted objects really exist, instead of being just two-dimensional paintings. It is the same principle all those pavement artists like Eduardor Relero and Julian Beever are governed by. It is derived from French for “trick the eye“, from tromper (to deceive) and l’oeil (the eye). These surely prove that the site wasn’t photoshoped, like some of you thought. Yes, this is add-on to the original melting spot illusion. Richard added:

“This building is on King George V in Paris, we found it by accident on way to Champs from tower and not seen it or heard of it before, hope you can use, its an amazing site to see.”

I would also like to apologize because of the short down-time. We had some server problems, so the site was unavailable for few minutes. All is proper again. Enjoy!
