Craig Tracy’s Body Art

Vurdlak has already featured Craig Tracy in the past, along with some of his most incredible body-paint works. In fact, he even named Tracy’s snow leopard image as one of the best optical illusions in 2009. Of course, it’s precisely that amazing level of skill that made me want to display few more images by this amazing artist! So here we go:

“How good is he?”, you may ask. Well, let me put it this way: the image just on the right, if Tracy weren’t such a fantastic body painter, would most certainly be labeled NSFW (*Not Safe For Work). Fortunately, instead you are seeing a gorgeous tiger eye staring at you intensely. If you really want to see what kind of effort goes into creating these exquisite masterpieces, be sure to visit the authors website where you can see an array of photos and videos depicting the creation of these works of art.

In fact, if you are truly inspired by Mr. Tracy’s work, there is even an information on how you can volunteer to become one of his models, thus becoming a part of the creation yourself. Who knows, maybe one of you will be featured on Mighty Optical Illusions one day…

But don’t think for a moment that Tracy’s artwork is solely limited to realistic images of big cats being painted on human canvases. No, his talent ranges from Liu-Bolin-styled camouflage pieces

to stunning floral paintings (that just happen to be painted on a naked person)…

to detailed depictions of non-feline creatures.

    1. if you go to the artist’s website, most of them are shown what parts they are… (like the tiger, is a woman’s breast, and part of an arm) and the website is amazing, i love the gallery.

    1. Cats have pupils that change shape depending on their mood. Like humans, they can become larger or smaller. With cats, though, the pupil acts a bit more similar to the waxing and waning of a moon.

  1. When you mentioned the top picture would be NSFW my mind immediately started imaging what body part it was. then I clicked the link and descovered that I have a dirty mind…. :-p Great illusions!

    1. what is it acctually drawn on? theres loads of links so i didnt know which one to click on :/
      thanxx :) x

    2. Same here. All the others were easy to see and I still couldn’t figure out the tiger. ‘Studied and studied it and wound up with some theories that were not as tame as the truth. ^__^0

  2. Too cool! This is what makes life seem so simple is to keep realizing like that Styx song “The Grand Illusion”. That’s all this life really is…

  3. Not that I’m a prude or anything, but why would the tiger eye not be safe for work?

I don’t see anything other than a tiger eye. Though I think that’s because risque body parts are painted so beautifully.

  4. If you turn the last photo upsidedown, you can see the person’s body. The lizard is on the person’s back and the background is painted on their arms.

    1. actually it is not painted on the back it is in the front torso you can see the navel of the girl near the lizards ear her palms are face up so we cannot see the elbow i can also see a nipple in the lower left part

  5. These paintings are amazing!

As for the people asking why the first one would be considered NSFW just click on the link.
And did anyone else notice the slip up on the tiger? Just above and to the right of the eye there is a small length of unpainted skin showing where the models hand is on her chest.

  6. It’s painted on a breast isn’t it? But is the pupil of the tiger’s eye the nipple? Hard to tell, even on the explanatory photos on the artist’s website.

I’m not sure why you call this an illusion. It’s just a rather clever bit of painting, photographed so that it’s hard to make out the body on which it’s painted.

  7. I just noticed that the flower is painted over the entire body and I only noticed it because of 5 minutes of intense studying trying to figure out which body part it was painted over. Then I noticed the head… XD

  8. Craig Tracy is amazing!! I can only hope to be as good as him someday! I have a long way to go. I just keep practicing. :) You should see the tiger face he painted that covers 3 huddled women! It’s amazing!!
