Matthias Draxler found this cool rug and forwarded it to us, at Mighty Illusions. You won’t have much trouble spotting the illusion in it, since anything else than strange ambigram is out of the question. Ambigrams are usually words that hold multiple meanings, depending on how you look at them. Often you have to flip the word to see another word or symbol. Anagrams are quite similar, only they provide same meaning in whatever way you look them. Or was it the other way around? I always mixed anagrams and ambigrams. Don’t take it hard on me. I linked some of the words in this article to previous anagram/ambigram optical illusions. So you can easily remember those by following the link. You probably noticed I do this in every post, so nothing new here. Matthias wrote in his email: “I really enjoy your website, and I’d like to submit this cool ambigram doormat I found on the internet. It can be bought in the UK.” You should jump inside this article, and see how this doormat looks when it’s flipped.

I Still haven’t obtained my free iPod from that offer I talked about earlier, but am completing final steps to get it! I’ll report when it arrives. Has anyone got it already? Another thing, I will add few more optical illusions, later today. That’s about it for site news today. Also, those of you who are on Myspace, can download those funny Zwinky’s, and try and create one of their own. I’m struggling to create illusionary one ;) Any tips? Some people just see some smileys when they go there, not exactly sure why. Also, do you know any other service similar to Myspace? Which one is the best? Thanks for your comments!

Just wondering why people need to type in all capital letters. you do realize that when online, all caps means you intend to yell loudly what you are saying, right? Also it is much harder to read. Just type what you have to “say” (unless you intend to scream) in small letters, only capitalizing when needed.

  9. Pax says:

I always laugh when I see comments about how “stupid” an illusion is, or how it was not really an illusion, when the real problem is that the viewer just didn’t GET IT!

And oh yes, the mat is verifiably cool.

Facebook is a pretty cool place. Its a lot like myspace. You can do comments and comments on pictures. But instead of a display name it does your real name. So when signing up, just put your last name initial if you dont want people knowing your last name. And there is no CSS-stuff like layouts and colored text. But its cooler that way. And there are still groups. Its really good to stay in touch with peoploe in your/other high schools/colleges[sp?]

Sorry if I killed you by writing too much. Rambling is my thing

Sweet illusion, I shall be purchasing one of these Post haste.

    By the way,

Ambi is the latin prefix for “Round” or “Both Sides” meaning that an Ambigram is the same both ways.

Ana is the latin prefix meaning: “up, back again, throughout, against” which I should assume means different views in this case.

This reminds me of the Da Vinci Code where some of these word-arts are shown.

  13. draco - incywincycyber.com says:

Ambigrams can be read from diferent angles, some times the same thing, some times different things.

anagrams are words or sentances containing the same letters in a different order.

as such: debit card = bad credit.
diferent meaning but the same letters.

and that matt kicks ass. i think i need one. :)
