Skull Chaser Optical Illusion

Here’s an interesting approach to original Lilac Chaser illusion, invented many years ago… Wait for the animation to load, and concentrate on the center dot for a minute or so. Normally the skulls are disappearing in a clock-wise direction, but if you manage to stay still and concentrated, you will experience an afterimage of the rotating skull in places (where there shouldn’t be any). Hope you understood all this babling.

Originally I got this optical illusion from here, and have to admit: I was forced to crop the above and below embedded letters. Sorry dear fellow webmaster, hope you don’t take it against me – it’s just that the letters were too big and spammy for the illusion to be useful anywhere elsewhere than on its original website.

Mati Suri Poster Illusion

Seeing optical illusion in this “new” poster for Mati Suri movie, shouldn’t be too hard. It works in the same way Premonition poster did, only there are skulls (again). If you want to know how the blog migration is going, well… I have exported all the posts, and 33,000 comments so far (22,000 more). My main concern is what will happen with new Wordpress feed when I add it to Feedburner’s one. How different will the code be? I’m not sure how I’ll get it to work with my widgets. Any pro out there that could help me? Is it possible in Wordpress to edit the built in feed code? So many questions, so little connections. About yesterday’s illusion, I managed to find the wolf’s head. The nose is located just next to the Indian’s right shoulder, and the eyes can be found half an inch above his head (both lef, and right). For the embedded eagles, I’m still not sure.

Having so much skull illusions in our archive, kept me from posting each new one separately. But when I noticed I have over 16 fresh optical illusions on my hard drive that somehow resemble a skull, I decided to share them with you through this composition. I promise, this is the last time. H.P. Lovecraft Illusion Poster

When I was a kid, I was a big fan of Metallica. On one of their first albums, there was a song titled “The Call of Ktulu”. I didn’t like that particular one so much, but the title was very powerful and stayed in my mind for very long time. Later I found out by accident, that the idea came from H.P. Lovecraft’s book, “The Shadow Over Innsmouth”, where the main chapter holds the same name. I wanted to share this little story with you, just to show how little I know of Lowecraft. Never the less, he is a very popular writer all over the world. One of his fans has sent me his poster that was exhibited in some sort of Expo. Can you see a hidden skull in it? Shouldn’t be to hard – looks somehow hypnotic, am I right? Check this vodka as well, that one looks almost the same!

Hellllooo there – Happy Easter to all of you around the world who celebrate it! I know Easter was yesterday, and my sloppiness isn’t the reason for not giving my good wishes – the reason are my contradictorily standings on such topic, since I’m trying to keep this site universal for all religions, ethnicities, and sexual orientations. I’m not completely sure should I seasonally decorate the site with suiting Christmas, Easter, Halloween etc. motives. What is your opinion on this troubled topic (for me). Please guide me.

Anyways, probably not suitable with yesterday’s Holly day, here are few more variations of “Perspective Skull” illusion. This wasn’t intended as something rude, it just came to my mind after finishing the article, so nothing intentional or cynical about it. Trust me. Also, i understand this kind of illusions were already featured dozen of times, and probably amaze you less each time. Well I understand this, and it was the sole reason to include all other skull images that were left. No more – I hope… Few dozen more can be found if you use the search box, and type “skull illusion” in it.

Afghanistan Unit’s Amblem Illusion

Berardi, Frank J SGT MIL USA USACE sent us this interesting logo: “This is a logo from a unit here in Afghanistan when you look closely you will see that there are all sorts of different aircrafts placed on top of the Afghan outline. But when you step back, doesn’t it look like a dragon head?”

I think Sargent Berardi found an interesting detail, but in my opinion it looks more like a rhino skull or something. Which one do you see? Another interesting logo is about to be posted soon!

Poision Perfume from Dior Illusion

So, anyone remembers original scary skull illusion? In 1860, an unknown author created first know illusion of this type, and called it “Blossom and Decay”. It was one of the first optical illusions in general! It is the third image you can see inside this article. What is so interesting about this motive, is the meaning how beauty and youngness is fragile and short. Later, probably the same artist created the more advanced version with only one women in it. This the second picture inside the article. In last couple of decades, many artist created different versions of this optical illusion. Check Aerosmith album cover, Silence of The Lambs movie poster, Descent movie poster, Skull Bakery painting… We featured more than dozen pictures of this type! Well, it’s interesting to see that Dior took the same motive for it’s Poison perfume, because it’s the first time we saw illusion of this type done in real life! Amazing, isn’t it? I underlined many words in this text, that can bring you directly to similar illusions that involve some kind of skulls. Check them if you wish, and comment which one you think is the best variation! The Perfect Storm Illusion

As he said himself, M. Shahadat Hossain (the submitter of this artwork), found it while browsing the net. It is a very interesting illustration concept of a storm, and a shipwreck in it. It looks as if there is a terrible faith awaiting these young sailors hanging from the foremast. Just move your head away from the monitor, and you’ll become aware of their destiny too. It gave me chills first time I saw it. Skulls were very popular in art few centuries ago, and carried a pretty big influence on artists today. I’m not quite sure when this illustration was created, nor who is the original author, but never the less its real masterpiece! Enjoy. Just a short note before you read Pablo’s post. I did some small re-design today, as you can see (most obvious changes can be seen in sidebar). I’d like to hear your opinion? The changes I made are really microscopic, but I believe they improve positive experience everyone has with our little community. I also fixed some small glitches that occurred while viewing this site from Internet Explorer. Can you see the site properly from your browser? If possible send me your screenshots (of the moillusions.com home page) and inner, bottom pages so I can see how the site appears through different interfaces. I also added site/web search at the bottom of the sidebar. What is your opinion on all this? Any suggestions? Now on to Pablo’s article… – Vurdlak

You might think that there are a lot of skulls in this picture. If you did, you’re wrong! This is actually a bakery, and the breads form skulls. Also, the ’skull’ in the middle is actually a woman that has a basket with a lot of bread on top of her head.There are also other types of bread (that I forgot their names, I think one of them is a baguette but I’m not sure) that form other things. I think this one belong is the ‘Spot the Object‘ or ‘Scary Illusions‘ category…Post any other hidden things you find -Pablo

Alchemists Skull Illusion

Rence and Mario from Netherlands have been using this skull pillow for few months, until they noticed there’s an illusion in it. Can you spot the illusion yourself, before reading the explanation? At least give it a try… Here’s what Mario said: “This is our pillow. We’d been sleeping on it for half a year until we noticed that the picture of a skull is actually two alchemists!!! Hopefully you’ll place our picture on the site!” Similar illusion can be seen in Aerosmith’s new album cover.
