New Room to Escape From

What I bring you today, has very little to do with optical illusions. Still, in order to solve this puzzle, you have to apply your puzzle-solving experience, as well as use your brain extensively. Those of you who follow our website from day one, will remember the original “Escape The Crimson Room” puzzle. I was amazed how well you guys accepted these kind of posts! More important, you did extremely good job solving it!

To be sincere, I played this for half an hour, but then I got stuck with some colorful cubes. You’ll know what I’m talking about when you get your hands dirty. I can give you some tips, but wouldn’t want to ruin this puzzle for others. So the only thing I’m gonna say, is look behind the suitcase and don’t overlook the corners ;) Hope we can solve this one together using our combined powers! If you show some interest towards these kind of posts, I’ll make sure to bring more in the future!

Portrait of a Halo 3 Forge Artist Illusion

Philip Ludens and few other of our loyal fans have submitted this interesting story for our website to publish. The author of this image, Brock Davis found a unique way to combine his love of Halo game and his passion for drawing. He created a 3D self-portrait using Halo 3’s Forge tool. The intriguing image is an optical illusion composed of objects found within the game. Davis, who works as an art director for an ad agency in Minneapolis, had seen examples of people using Forge to write messages or draw 2D pictures in the similar way, but was curious to see if such artistic endeavors could be taken a step further by making a 3D image viewable form certain point of view only. Would be interesting to see similar optical illusion in real life. Let’s see if you can find similar illusions created in real life in this site’s archive. Post the title of your findings! There must be some, but I obviously forgot…

Find Super Mario Galaxy Illusion

Chris submitted this funny gag few days before! It has been circulating the net lately, but I haven’t seen it previously, since I’m not the biggest fan of Super Mario (been playing PC games as a kid, not Nintendo). Basically what Chris wants you to do, is to find all the letters with shiny star beneath them, and read them aloud as you normally would. Be ware only to read starred letters. You will then be astonished by secret you’ll find out about yourself. I think it starts with “Ur Mr. …” Was I right? Enjoy! More awesome and true optical illusions coming shortly… Please don’t spoil the fun, and reveal the hidden message, as either way I won’t publish those comments containing the solve.

P.S. Congrats to those of you who got out of the Crimson Room. You rock!

Escape from The Crimson Room!

If you came to this article via pc widget or mac widget, you probably only saw the image on the left. While it is an awesome illusion, it has been covered on this site many times. In short, the room is constructed in special way, so that when you walk across it, it appears you are growing or shrinking. The reason I wrote this post isn’t to remind you of that particular illusion (called Ames Room), but to share an awesome game I just played. I am aware it isn’t an optical illusion in its nature, but I promise you that you’ll like it. Not sure how many of you will manage to escape the crimson room below, but you’ll have fun solving the mystery. If you don’t see the game window below this text, you probably don’t have flash installed. Please share hints and tips if absolutely necessary, but don’t spoil the fun for others. Let’s see how many of you will manage to complete the game. It’s short, but hard! Also, if you like it, please submit this article to Digg, Stumbleupon or somewhere else :)

The Hidden Tiger Illusion

I just finished posting an interesting Interactive Magic Trick, on Mighty Tricks homepage, and now came here to update you with newest optical illusion for today. I just hope it already became your habit to check both websites when one is updated. This is because I update both sites at the same time, just one after another. If you want to be the first to know when the site’s are updated, you should better subscribe to our widgets or RSS feeds for both sites.

I’m sorry that in every post I babble about Mighty Tricks website, but you have to realize that it’s a new project of mine, and I’m just trying to make it more popular, informing wider public about it. Now let’s jump to our new illusion. For today I prepared an interesting spot the object painting, created by American wildlife artist Rusty Rust, that shows a huge Bengal Tiger standing in a bamboo forest. We had a similar Lion Illusion, Panda Bears Illusion, Wolves Illusion, and many more… If you are asking yourself why Rusty named this picture “The Hidden Tiger“, your assignment is to figure out why! When you find it – comment, just don’t reveal the secret, so other users can have fun spotting it too.

Danlock The Trick Lock – Part II

I usually don’t post follow-ups to ongoing discussions, but this one really took my attention. Having fun solving that lock, from the post below (Lock and Key puzzle)? I didn’t have any, but found out it is originally called Danlock, and was designed by Israeli craftsman, Dan Feldman. Also, I have more pictures and info, I didn’t provide last time. Apparently Danlock comes only with two keys – one attached to the shackle, and the other is broken (no trick there). I also found out, that it’s rather more difficult to get the lock back to the same state as it is delivered to you. It involves the solving of at least 3 quite distinct puzzles.

I searched the whole web to find the solution, and couldn’t find one. Maybe it’s better like this, since it’s much more fun. I believe it would be much easier if I actually had this item in my hands. For now, my best guess is that the lock is infact tricky, and that it can be opened with left part of the broken key itself, then maybe with other part (keyhole not as deep as the broken part), or maybe without key. Cool game! Does that little ring attached to broken key has any role in this? Are the numbers on the key some kind of combination? I emailed Dan Fieldman (the creator), and hopefully he will participate in our discussion. Also, solutions like: “Use the chainsaw“, “Photoshopped” etc… are invaluable.

New Games & Ladder Illusion

Hollydays are closing in, and since I believe it’s the time of giving and sharing, I made you a little present today! For all of you using Macs, be sure to get newest games in our Mac Games section. I added Fizzball – add-on to the most popular game on planet called Professor Fizzwizzle. I also added another one called Rage Of Magic 2! Be sure to check them out here. As it wouldn’t be fair for PC users (like me) to feel left out, I present them two popular games as well! First one is Chicken Invaders 3, and the second one is called Believe in Santa. They are both great, so play them and you will see. They can both be found in PC Games section.

Now let’s go on with todays illusion! Michael Ciuffo, author of the Laser Cup, created another original and quality optical illusion. He submitted it recently, with info: “This is Michael Ciuffo again (I did the Laser Cup Illusion a while back) and I’ve got another one for ya! Attached is a “anti gravity” illusion that I did recently.” Looks like original anty gravity illusion inspires many of us to be creative. Thanks Michael!

M&M Dark Chocolate – Find 50 Dark Movies

In this cool M&M Dark Chocolate game I have recently received, you have to find the title of 50 dark movies using riddles in a Hieronymus Bosch-like painting. Can you find them all? To see all the details, I recommend opening the picture in full size (click on it, and select: “open in new window”). Some folks advised you can use the full size image as your desktop wallpaper – supposedly you like it that much… You can check your findings by reading current comments. I came back from my vacation a week ago and as promised, new things started happening with Mighty Optical Illusions! We are working to expand our illusion database to a much bigger level! You will see much positive and exciting changes in weeks to come. As a start, we are proud to present our new section with free games to download!
