Captain’s Pig Optical Illusion

“The captain’s pig fell overboard and swam with all his might, until the shark came gliding up, and put him out of sight.” I think this line perfectly explains the following optical illusion. When you look at the illusion for the first time, you instantly see our little pig swimming in water. But where is the shark? Can you find it? I can guarantee you that the shark is hidden somewhere inside this pic. If you still can’t find it, remember our multiple meaning illusions. Here is another hint. If all this didn’t help, jump inside the article, and you’ll see the solution image below the pig one.

    1. IF YOU HAVE A PICTURE OF A PIGS SNOUT AND TURN IT UPSIDE DOWN, WHAT DO YOU GET…?

      AN OWL!

GO ON, YOU KNOW YOU’RE GOING TO TURN A PIGGYWIG UPSIDE DOWN!

  1. Now that is what I call awesome. Would be interested if the artist meant to make it or if it was a happy accident.

  2. I couldnt find the shark for the longest time. After finding it, I am having a hard time seeing it in the first picture without tilting my head to an extreme angle.

I found it also by focusing on the nose (in the bottom picture, of course).

These are incredible illusions, and as anon #2 asked, I would surprised if this was a mere “coincidence”.

I see the bottom picture as a view FROM the ocean floor, looking up to the surface of the water. It makes more “sense” that way, because otherwise this shark is doing the backstroke on top of the sea. lol

    I like this a lot!

  3. heres a hint.

if you don’t see the shark in the second picture, don’t think of it as looking down on the shark. think of it as looking up at the shark’s bellie.

  4. It’s not a shark swimming on it’s back, its the view of a shark from underwater.
    (The second one that is)

    pretty cool :)

  5. Though cant see a shark, I can see the greek orthodox priest changing a lightbulb. Shark?! isnt it a seahorse….and where is the pig suppose to be?

  6. shark is like nemo, tiny fins….anyways heres a little somethign lol: 98% of teens would be dead if Twilight said breathing wasn’t cool. Post this if you are apart of the 2% laughing.

  7. This is from a very cool book i had as a child called Topsy Turvy, with rhymes that went with a flipping picture ,like this one. Very nice!

  8. If you look closely they are both the shark shown from underside ,the top picture is just the bottom flipped upsidedown

  9. Never seen a pig with ears that big or a shark with pectoral fins that small but it works if you neglect such trivial matters.

  10. The shark, the 2nd pig, is seen from an underwater view, looking up. If you were scuba diving and looked up, you’d see this view…the belly and fins of the shark. Nicely done.

  11. Hey pretty cool illusion.

    **SPOILERS***

And on the second image, the little line which was the pig’s eyes, is the sharks mouth. This is just a hint………

  12. Well, see the pigs ‘eyes’ that is actually the shark’s mouth. just keep looking at it and it’ll pop up :)

  13. For 12. Anonymous: the pig’s ears are the shark’s fins, the pig’s eyes are the shark’s mouth, and the pigs mouth is the shark’s eyes. You are looking at the underneath of the shark as if you were swimming under it. The shark’s tail fin is not visible. I hope this helps.
Yes, cool illusion. It took someone else to point it out to
    me also.

  14. you have to imagine that ur seeing the shark for underneath sort of view…
the ears are the fins, the eyes is the mouth, the mouth is the eyes.
once u see it… its NUTS.
okay not THAT nuts… but still pretty cool lol

  15. I did notice the original picture’s pig looked a little vicious at times… it’s mouth, it’s eyes… and I thought the ears looked suspicious. But I just don’t know about this illusion. I don’t think even the answer pops out very much. And the fins are weird.

  16. Why don’t you put the solution on a “click here to see the solution” kind of link. Having it directly under the original image ruins the fun…

  17. the first thing i saw was the upsidedown shark! when i read the title, i couldnt find the pig, well, i did have it on the widget so i never read the meaning but then i saw the pig!

p.s. comment NO #3 is so random!

  18. i acctually saw the shark before i read the post… and though i realised it was also another animal my mind didnt think of a pig before i read it… cool illusion

  19. Wow, that’s cool….but to be honest:
Could’nt see the Shark on the pig-pic (hehe)
this is really not easy and i agree the pre-posts, that it looks like a mistake somehow ^^

  20. THIS IS SOOOOO COOOL!!!!!! Best illusion I have ever seen on this site, and I have been with moillusions for centuries. Now that’s sayin’ something!

  21. can I be honest….

that’s a very crap drawing. it doesnt look much like a pig, and it’s an even worse drawing of a shark.

I’ve seen alot better “turn it round an it looks like something else” types of illusions….

this one just isnt drawn that well at all.

also, as pointed out, sharks fins just do not look like that.

  22. I saw a smaller thumbnail of the pic which zoomed in on the head of the pig/shark and first thought it was a shark floating upsidedown, then opened the whole picture and saw the pig. Very cool.

    1. well if you see the lines that is between the eyes of the pig, that is the mouth of the shark in the next pic. Then the ears of the pig are the fins of the shark.

      HOPE THIS HELPS :)

  23. THE OPTICAL ILLUSION:WHEN YOU FIRST SEE
THE OPTICAL ILLUSION,IT LOOKS LIKE A PIG BUT WHEN YOU TURN IT AROUND, IT IS A SHARK GOOD BYE FORTODAY!

  24. ur all being so dumb, its a shark from u underwater if you turn it upside down, or a pig if swimming if you look at it from the top!! gawd!!!!

  25. first pic : pig
    second pic : shark
if u dont know y, just look at lucies comment ( its the second reply 2 sams comment)
