I have just recently stumbled upon these chalk drawings, and saved them to share with you when time comes. It appears they were done as an add for a company called HDI (don’t ask me, I have no idea what they’re advertising). Anyway, the artist who painted them appears to be true genius, but I doubt it was Julian Beever who painted this – his style and colors are somewhat different. Hope you still like chalk drawings, and I plan to share more after hearing your thoughts…

HDI is a german insurance company.

  • Xenia

HDI is a German insurance company. The slogan on the ad says: Whatever comes [to pass], HDI will always help you.

  • Chris

Mayby the slogan Hilft Dir Immer are relatet to the “car accident” ;-)

  • A Snail

Nice. The car that fell down could do with been a different colour – too similar to the colour of the building.

The company is HDI Gerling Insurance, so perhaps they insure works of art.

  • Kathy

Probably a car insurance company. The sign’s no help- it appears to be written in German. Any German speakers?

    Very good.

  • Memeee

HDI is the most stupid abbriviation for a company name in Germany: HDI = Hilft Dir Immer = Helps you always … So maybe one of you in the US wants to open up a startup calles H Y A ??? ;-)

    • frozen

I have to disaggree with Memee.

They might use the slogan “Hilft dir immer” – “Will always help you”, however, the abbreviation HDI stands for Haftpflichtverband der Deutschen Industrie – German Industry Third Party Liability Alliance – the former core business.

Btw I like this kind of chalk pictures, epecially when they’re done in the right place.

I do like chalk drawing illusions, but this one doesn’t do the trick for me. Somehow it doesn’t look realistic, so it still seems colored asphalt to me. Julian Beever’s work is much better! If he made this one, I would call it an offday :).

  • Jos

If I am informed well this one is made by Manfred Stader. He made more promotion drawings. Google it …

  • aurelio

    HEY THAT’S MY CAR!
