soldier-bending-manIf I used a completely different title – let’s say something like: Bending Man’s Ass, I believe it would still describe this picture as perfect as the current title does. Combine these two, and you quickly learn how this optical illusion really works. Yes, it’s another Multiple Meaning one. Just out of the curiosity, which one did you notice first? Soldier with Helmet or Bent Person?

Yesterday’s post got the lowest rating as far as my memory serves me. Even though the rating was bad, it somehow made me happy. You’ll probably ask yourselves why? Well, for some time I wasn’t sure if the ratings were realistic at all.

Almost all of our previous optical illusions got their rating so high, I beleived it’s our fans giving 5 stars irelevant of the illusion posted – even the bad ones would get good result (I feared). Gladly, yesterday’s result showed me we don’t have a problematic situation here. In fact, just opposite – this affirmed I really managed to find exceptional stuff in last months, and the fact that low results can happen just the same as good ones often do, the recent low result just strengthened the value and relevancy of previous posts that got very high results.I deeply appreciate your critique, since I already know your supportive side (even though I liked our yesterday’s post :)

i just found your website yesterday through a google gadget… very cool stuff. :) i saw the soldiers helmet first, but perhaps that’s because it’s what i expected to see? maybe if you had called it Bent Person i would have seen that first instead.

  2. Michael says:

    That’s a nasty helmet.

  3. Somebody :P says:

I saw the soldiers helmet too.
I just had a quick glance at thepicture, then i saw the soldier.
When i focused on the picture tho, i saw a man showing his butt. :/

  4. Care Bear says:

Thank you. I haven’t been mooned since 1964,

  5. Facebook User says:

maybe with these sorts of illusions you shouldn’t name them as what one of them looks like, should name them something neutral. I saw the soldier first but that might just have been because I saw the name first.

I like this one though, like it alot!

It`s so difficult to say something about in another language, but I rally likes it. I think optical illusions are great. I would can say so much more when I could write in german.

  7. David says:

Didn’t take me long to get to the bottom of it

  8. Gary says:

Yesterdays Illusion Dancing Wind…I just didn’t see a Illusion. Todays was fun. I didn’t see the man until I read what you wrote. Thanks.

  9. A. Nonny Moose says:

I first saw the soldier’s head on my sidebar gadget, but upon getting on the site, I quickly saw the “back side” of this illusion. Good work, Vurdlak!

  10. Mona Karen says:

I agree with the last post. I saw the soldier first — but I didn’t see your title, and so was not influenced.

I love these mulitple meaning illusion, and I liked yesterday’s illusion. Funny that so many people did not.

I totally agree with Nobody, that if U call it one thing then the person sees that. I actually didn’t see that untill the explanation pointed it out. I love your website and check it every day:)Thanks for the cool illusions:)

  12. Janice says:

I saw the helmet first, and soon saw the butt lol. I didn’t know we could rate! -rates-

  13. duncan says:

Now that is a great illusion. Nice message too.

  14. Blizzard4800 says:

I don’t really get it it’s just a soldier with a helmet that look’s like an ass

  15. Terra Wah says:

I saw the soldier, then the man, both before reading the description or title… I suppose I was looking for a hidden meaning, though.

  16. Detective Kitty says:

Wow, that’s funny i saw it as a man first and then i realized that it was guy’s but…lol

  17. LB says:

I agree with Facebook User… you should name it something neutral, and let us figure out what the illusion is. It is kind-of a downer when I already know what to expect from your explanation. However, I think it would be good if you posted the answers in a link somewhere in the page for when we get really stuck =)

  18. LB says:

You should post who the artist is, or at the very least, where you found the illusion.

  19. Aronno says:

I’ve seen this illusion years ago! WHAT A LOAD OF …. hahaha do u get it?

  20. Facebook User says:

Yesterday’s illusion wasn’t the seamless transition like the sailing ships turning into arches. Too choppy to be a true illusion.

  21. Facebook User says:

    Helmet first, before reading title.

  22. Cody says:

i saw the bent person first. it took me a while to see the helmet.

  23. egdirbr says:

    What a butt-face!

  24. I saw the soldier first and guessed it was a multiple meaning illusion…the bent man was easy to catch. One question though?? Is his bottom supposed to be showing??

  25. unknownperson says:

    hahaha nice.

  26. any mouse says:

    Just say no to crack!

  27. Alyssa says:

I didn’t even realize there was a title until it was mentioned in the description.

I saw the solider’s head first, but I didn’t see it as a soldier until I read the description. It looked like an old lady’s face to me.

Once I saw the other image, I saw the man bending over, but for some reason I didn’t realize his ass was showing. I thought his pants were just a lighter color in that area.

  28. Jonathan says:

Yes, Vurdlak’s style is unsubtle. It’s difficult being nuanced in a second language/culture. Hell, for a lot of people it’s hard enough in their first :P

  29. Syed says:

Hi, i saw the bent person first. Then saw the soldier after reading the title.

  30. Rahul Aithal says:

    Three in one! Awesome!

  31. Someone says:

At first i thought: why does the man have a butt on his head? LOL
    this pics reli funny

  32. Al says:

I immediately saw the soldier, but I may have been influenced by the title, since I read that first.

  33. Tomas says:

At first I saw the Soldier with helmet, yet I saw the bent person too. They both were clearly seen.
The optical illusions always amuse, yet I admire your mastery to look. The ability to recognize the hidden figures in the picture not only enables the viewer to grasp better the message of the artworks he admires, but helps him to move anywhere and not to stumble on any prejudices. I greatly enjoyed that your mastery. Your ability to see beyond the picture made me your grateful follower.

  34. :) says:

    ahahaha … lalaking gatuwad … !!!

  35. Haha! That’s funny! XD

  36. Mike says:

“Nice job soldier! How do you distract them?”
