Impossible Nuts Illusion
Many of you probably saw this video already. Today I watched it once again, and after all that violence, corruption and shit happening in the world, I was really touched. Somehow it put a smile on my face, and gave me some hope that there is still a chance for us, inhabitants of this wonderful planet. By seeing what is happening in our everyday life, watching news, seeing violent movies, I really started looking at us humans as a virus ruining this amazing planet. Only way mother nature could fight back against us, was by inventing some new “weapons” like: Ebola, Aids, other diseases, nature disasters, growing male impotence, homosexuality (today higher number of individuals are born with same sex affinities, which results in lower reproduction – this wasn’t meant to be offensive in any way), and god knows what else… “Luckily” we are a resistant breed. In my opinion everyone should see this video. At least you’ll feel much better after seeing it. Maybe there is still some hope left for us… and yes, I know its offtopic.
This why I’ve also included impossible object above to keep you occupied, and show something illusion-related inside your widgets. If you find it familiar, its because Janek submitted something simmilar two years ago. Btw, I’ve embedded the video in HD quality. You should really see it like it is (in high res), but if you have trouble sitting behind slow internet connection, you can turn the little red “HD button” off – should be much faster. I liked the comment from Dean about how this illusion looks like the old computer magnetic core memory from the 1960’s. The nuts would be magnets and they would be flipped by sending a current through the rod. So for example, the one on the left would be “zero” (0) and the one on the right would be “one” (1). They were very small but visible to the naked eye, about 1mm in diameter. You can see how making an array of 256,000 of them would be expensive.

Thanks for the clarification re homosexuality. I still don’t agree with the characterization but now that I understand where you’re coming from better, I’m not offended or disturbed by the statement. We can simply disagree. I didn’t drop the subscription, and look forward to more cool illusions.
The is no shortage of websites spouting hateful and malicious viewpoints. I hoped MOI wasn’t among them so I asked for the clarification. If I wasn’t satisfied, I was simply going to exercise my vote against by dropping the subscription, maybe causing you to lose a penny in advertising revenue.
Gay rights and free speech are in the headlines a lot and on my mind a lot these days. I decided to stand up for both.

I think it’s the sh*t you should be censoring, not homosexuality :) it shows that you are not embarassed but it, which you shoudn’t be, plus, swear words are no good ;)
Once, matt was on vacation somewhere and his buddy told him “hey, go over there and do that stupid dance you do” and he filmed it. and then he kept doing that in other places and then people saw his videos and it got popular. (stride gum supports/pays him to go everywhere and dance, though he can’t really dance) =)
Oh, and… the news shouldn’t be watched: for the reasons you said above (its all about death, crime, violence, destruction, etc). Who wants to become depressed??
i dont get the video and why you put swearing in the talking bit u put at the top my little cousin is 5 and he is a geek and he gets swearwords like a 10 yearold and he can definitly read words like homosexuality and the s word (i cant write it coz im only 11 and parent over shoulder)
I don’t really get why the video is uplifting. I like these Matt videos. They’re amusing, and it’s interesting to see the different places. But they doesn’t make me feel particularly good about humanity.
You can see people dancing 24/7 on the music channels. Dancing doesn’t mean humans are good.
