Be sure you update your Vista gadget, I just made the featured post about it – above. Chris O’Bray found these incredible photos, and decided to share them with our community. This is what Chris said: “You’ve probably got dozens of people sending you this, but just in case it’s passed you by. Check this story and pictures out! Love the site by the way. I use the Google gadget – by far its the most interesting thing on my home page!”
It took Sara Watson three weeks to transform the car seen below, and make it invisible. She made a battered old Skoda “disappear” by painting it to merge with the surrounding car park. This invisible Skoda is now being used for advertising by the local recycling firm that donated the vehicle. Sara was given the Skoda Fabia from the breaker’s yard at local firm, whose owner Steve Jackson described her work as “simply amazing”. Are you able to see the car without any problem? Perhaps our color-blind readers will see it more quickly, as they are better at penetrating certain camouflages (supposedly). Oh, I almost forgot to share that I managed to pass my exam – just 8 more before getting a diploma!

so cool!
Wow. At first I thought that was done in the darkroom (which shows my age), then I realized it’s all by paint. Very ghostly. Well done!
very impressive…i like the part that is in the shadow beneath the front bumper…thats the abyss…no light can escape it, like a black hole…
ok, wierd…
I like the bottom pic better, bc the perspective seems slightly more accurate.
I thought that the ground and wall were painted to look like a car.
Reeeally cool, but I don’t think anyone looking at the pictures is going to miss the car, it’s quite obvious that there is one “hidden” in there…
Ahaheh;P that’s great! At a first glance without reading anything i thought it was done simply with layers on Photoshop/Paint.NET etc. and making one more transparent:P… but yeah thats lovely =]… also the last pics obviously Photoshopped though ;) ahah (multiple Sara Watsons!! :P
lol @ comment number 4, thats a good point :P almost could be ^_^ (except the (yellow) lines wouldn’t have been so standing out then)
Nice paint job! I never noticed the car in the low-res iGoogle gadget.
Random: This is the way of the future… Invisible cars will dominate… and they will be repainted every 2 seconds… LOL
All I can see is a extremely cute blondie
thr top pic looks wierd but the botttom pic looks cool esp the girl on to of the car
ps
who is the girl anyway?? if anybody knows please tell me
ps
is she linsey lohan????
just wonderin
This does class as ART!, unfortunatley it only works from one camera position, so not invisible in the camoflage sense. :)
It took me a minute to get this one. At First I thought she did it in Photoshop and that it took her 3 weeks to do, I was going to shake my head at how easy it would be to do that.
After looking at it a bit longer I realized she painted the car, now THAT is impressive.
Thumbs up for fooling me and making me study the picture longer.
Now that is talent!
It would be cool to have one of those cars. Too bad ghost cars are only available to the police.
Would have been cool if they had painted the shadows out too… thats what they used to do on black and white tv shows: paint the walls a lighter colour where the shadows were falling so in film they showed up the same colour.
Although, since it took 3 weeks it would have to have been done at the very last minute before the picture was taken…
…and there’s always the easier option of just lighting the picture…
…what a productive comment this was.
wow
i wonder what happens when she drives it? LOL
I like that it Wasn’t digaltered; it would’ve been easy to fade it out more.
More important, Congrats Vurdlak on passing your exam! (I’d feel awful if you hadn’t, for so thoroughly enjoying the results of the time and effort you give MOI!)
the second picture isn’t photoshopped, she is a quadtuplit she has 3 identical sister’s
(j.k.)
that car can”t going 2 last long someone is going to crash into it because they can’t see it
freakin’ awesome.
at first I thought the buildings were painted so it looked like a car was there, and then I thought it was like one of those trade-mark thingies so you know it’s this brand, then i thought computer gnereed,
THEN AWESOMENESS
VERY impressive work. The only thing she overlooked was to use light paint under the car to compensate for the car’s shadow… but I guess that might have pissed someone off.
Uhm, this is actually a Skoda Felicia (1994-2001), not Fabia (1999–present). So please, change the name to Skoda Felicia, thanks :)
Congrats Vurdlak, on passing your Exams…
we all had really hoped for that! :-)
You've done such a great work!
You have truly deserved it…

cool, but that second pic is clearly photoshopped right? Hmmm…. Naw, still cool.
Again, not strictly an illusion. It is art in perspective to make it appear invisible but you can still easily see it is a car that has been painted. It is shaped like a car, looks like a car (and probably smells like a car). Had she painted it in a fashion to make it look bigger at the back or to make it look like it is wriggling/moving when it really isn’t, or to make it look like a truck or submarine would be an illusion in the truer sense. This is highly skilled perspective art.

Amazing!!! Big respect! But I think thats Skoda Felicia.
I love the idea behind this, best thing in my eyes for some time. Couldn’t have been easy to do either.
that’s skoda felicia, not fabia :)
Great work. I wonder how long it would take to have another car plow into the front of it?
She should have put lighting under the car so there would have very little shadow.
great! looks so real
more exciting is: who is this girl :D
good illusion ^^
Best illusion I’ve ever seen!! ;-D Thank you soooooooooooo much!!
I’ve seen her and that car in the news paper! and on Yahoo!
That must have taken days to do. That’s the most awesome thing I’ve ever seen.
cute ladies there and a nice illusion
Brilliant!! Left me confused for about a minute, before I could figure out what had been done!
Its Skoda Felicia, not Fabia…good work anyway
Good car, anywhere…
Wow what a beautiful young lady! Umm, I mean great art work.
how did they get Lindsey Lowhan to pose ????
Fake!
