Whoa! Look at this spooky and blurry image below. Can you tell in which direction the female is looking at? Most of you would normally believe that the girl’s eyes are directed towards the right. I have shared the same delusion. But you have benefit of knowing that if this photo is presented here, it must have something to do with optical illusions, so probably you will opt in for the opposite direction. Yes, you chose wisely. If we defocus the picture, as a result we get a nice n’ sharp image of a young normal person – with eyes directed towards left. If noticed the resemblance – yes, this optical illusion was also created by Rob Jenkins, the author of Ghostly Gaze. Another day, and another illusion explained… Btw. have you noticed a little re-design in the comments section? Do you like the new grayish comments? How about the website’s new background color? Any advices for tweaking the website? I’m listening!

Very good one. The explanation is simple: the girl has blue eyes, and the shadows at the right are darker than the eyes themselves. Very good indeed.

background color of the comments isn’t bad, but also old one wasn’t bad neither. But is it really necessary to read every comment before publishing?
for example comments from members could be published immediately and if member says something that shouldn’t be published he/she would get banned? and comments from non-members would be published after you read them? I guess that would save your time a lot.. sry for bad english ;)

I agree with Paco – the illusion works because the woman has pale-coloured eyes. However, she’s creepy looking! Those in-focus eyes don’t look natural to me but as if they’ve been worked on.

I noticed that at least one person was upset at this and your latest batch of optical illusions. I was looking through previous ones, and I wonder, how many NEW optical illusions can you do? How many more exist in the world? I love this site, but I too feel most of the good ones have been done. However, there are TONS of great ones I haven’t seen in the archives.
