New day, new illusion and some newly registered visitors! Yes that’s right. I’ve never announced the new “Mighty Optical Illusion Members” feature (which is located at the bottom of the sidebar, but I see some of you were smart enough, and already made benefit from it :) It makes great joy every time I visit my homepage, and see that someone new joined this community – Thanks people! Keep doing it, and as the user number grows, we will gradually roll out some new member-features for you to enjoy. Now for the illusion…

Peter Cami explained everything, so no need for me to elaborate further. Thanks Peter – “Hi, I love your site and because of your widget, I’m drawn to it daily. For a while people have been working on the included piece of art. It’s situated on a steel/glass roof above an open space at the theater. You can see it’s not totally finished yet, but the guys are finishing the last letters. From the first day I knew it was gonna end up like something I’ve seen several times on your site. I’ve always loved these and even thought of integrating something like it in our shops. The text says ‘Zie wat ik zeg dat ik niet zeggen kan’ in Dutch – translated it is ‘See what I say, that I can’t say’. Kind regards and keep updating your site the way you do.

    nice

  41. y-man says:

    curious about member features ;-)

I don’t see what’s strange about this one… Is it different layers that only show under a certain angle…? Or is there some 3D effect I don’t see?

  42. Caroline says:

So funny to see a Dutch illusion on this site, I really like it!
Keep up the good work, greetings from Amsterdam!

  43. Xiashu says:

I like these kinds of arts.
There is also an, I believe Dutch, design company who makes 3d objects on flat walls, which can only be viewed from a certain angle. Like the one in this link: http://www.phillennium.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/delta_inc.jpg

  44. Anonymous says:

    Kinda looks a photoshop item.
Peter is saying he’s seen this in person, so it must be real. Maybe it just looks off as it’s not done yet.

  45. Anonymous says:

Took me a while to figure out that the illusions are normally not in Dutch :)

  46. UltraPulse says:

I believe the optical illusion is the words being painted on the ceiling and partiallly on the poles.

Therefor it looks like it’s vertical.

    Translated it says:

    SEE
    WHAT I
    SAY THAT I
    CANNOT SAY

I think he means something like:
Open your eyes to the world, to notice the things that can’t be said out loud due to the general opinion.

Oh yes, I’m dutch too, never new so many dutchies viewed this blog.

The artwork is located in Antwerp according to one of the former posts.

  47. PhoenixFire says:

Not bad, not bad. These single angle illusions are kinda neat looking. Would be nice to get another angle where you can’t see it, or perhaps, partially see it.

A few of the posts where asking for translation, from what full words I can read on the picture, the translation is as follows.

“zie wat ik zeg dat ik niet zeggen”

“See what I say that I do not say”

Thanks to BabelFish for the translation, if it is not correct, to someone who speaks dutch, would you could correct me please.

  48. Bas says:

ohh, ohh, It’s not Dutch, it’s Belgium (same language, other Country ;-). Written by Joke van Leeuwen.
It’s placed for one year at the Theaterplein in Antwerpen. This was part of the worldday against child abuse. See also:

    btw

  49. Anonymous says:

“Zie, (ik) zeg, zeggen” means “see, (I) say, say (infintive)”

More Dutch illusions please! I’m Dutch too, love the site!

  50. Aquila says:

This is not Photoshopped, you can see it live in Antwerp. And we are proud of it!

  51. Waffles says:

WHAT DOES IT SAY! SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT IT MEANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and everyone else to.) BUT MOSTLY ME!!!!!!!!!

  52. Anonymous says:

    wat does it say

  53. FutureLegend says:

    Like it alot!

  54. Anonymous says:

    It’s says.
See what I say, what I cant’s say.

  55. Dinesh Gogar says:

    It says:

“See what I say that I can’t say”

  56. sqdf says:

    it’s belgian

  57. I_luv_hoses says:

    what does it mean

  58. Valerie says:

To everyone who keeps asking what it says, the translation in the post…

  59. UnIcOrN says:

    SoRrY I DoNt SpEaK PoNy

  60. Nikki says:

    it IS STUPID

  61. Kim says:

It means; See what I say what I can’t say .
And it’s not an Illusion, it’s a building that really excist.

  62. Mister M. says:

It is an illuison, because the celling bars are painted and the white poles also have some parts painted in such a way when you look at it at certain angle (angle of this photo) it seems straight, readable text, arranged to look like this ony on that angle! there are many examples of this style of optical illusions, I really like those ideas.

  63. Mister M. says:

Nikki: relax, although I’m pretty sure you will never be able to understand such complexity of something like this ;)

  64. mikaa says:

wow. for every comment saying “first” there are 20 comments before that saying first ! WOW u people are idiots

  65. Peter Cami says:

Mikaa I wouldn’t blame them they didn’t see it so shut it and I’m sorry for being the creator and the bad guy but really Mikaa?
