Bob Guckert from Pittsburgh (USA) emailed one of his discoveries. It’s a logo for the Pittsburgh Zoo. Apparently, he found out that the logo holds an interesting optical illusion. He knew of this picture for sometime, but only after visiting our website, he started to see things differently. This is what Bob wrote in his email: “This is an optical illusion I have seen for many years, but didn’t notice till I started visiting your website. Thanks for making me aware of my surroundings”. If you remember, Mira foundation had a similar poster for it’s own campaign. Illusion works same way Rubin’s Vase works, and all other similar illusions we posted earlier, are just a variation of the same principle. So, can you spot the illusion hidden in the poster below? It’s easy!

I see the fish at the bottom and the 2 animals in the white spots on either side of the tree.
I see a gorilla and a Lion as white shapes.
there are two lions too, male and female.

Yeah, I’m from Pittsburgh and I noticed this illusion about 6 or 7 years ago, I’m surprised they haven’t changed the logo of the zoo yet. It is clever though, so I guess thats why they haven’t.

in the upper part there seems to be a streched version of the world map

I can’t figure out what’s in the left…
I see 2 fish at the bottom, 2 birds, 2 lions at both sides of the tree and I think there’s also a whale at the bottom on the left. I don’t see a gorilla…where is it? Oh and on the top on the left side…I think I see a sqirrel.

1 squirrel
that is pretty cool. i love illusions like this, they are so clever. and unusual ones like this are better than the vase one you see all the time. i can also see how you wouldn’t necassarily see the illusion if you weren’t looking for it- it’s subtle.

and a crocodile head at the bottom where the fish are (fish are in its mouth)

i just LOVE these, and i get even a bigger kick out of the comments that follows…especially when people “see” things that just arent there :) This design has a BIG tree, the outline of both a gorilla and a lioness, with the two birds flying above the tree, and two fish leaping out of the water UNDER the tree. After checking with the zoo officials, THAT IS IT…there is no more hidden animals in the logo…But, still…VERY nicely done.

All I can see is a couple of birds at the top and a couple of fish at th bottom!!!!!!!
