In Auckland City, over 70% of road crashes involving pedestrians occur on main roads. At least the official statistics state so. So the Auckland City Council (Pedestrian Safety) decided to take precaution measures, and used attractive 3D Chalk drawings to warn their citizens of the danger that lurks them on every step. The campaign involves Fire, Sharks and Snakes, and is titled “Don’t step into danger”. This decision greatly reminds me of Philadelphia’s effort to slowdown speedy drivers using fake 3D speed-bumps. Remember that one? Be also sure to check 3D Chalk Drawings and Billboards category for more optical illusions like this one! The advertising agency responsible: Ogilvy, New Zealand.

Nice, but they look like vinyl stickers to me, with the lettering being stencilled in white paint.
I’d love to think of Ogilvy getting lots of street artists to do the work, but somehow I doubt it! :)

  38. Linsey says:

  42. Anonymous says:

not as impressive as some others…
the paint job kinda gives them away

  43. Anonymous says:

good way to get attention- maybe if you put them at the start of the roads ppl wont cross… and if u put them in the middle- opposit effect….

  44. richy blake says:

Theyre nice but they lack the right perspective ….

Lokk at these -> http://www.shapeshiftermedia.com <- theyre awesome and somewhat of a standard in todays floor advertising.
