I found an interesting picture today, while browsing the endless internet. It was marked as an “optical illusion“, but I could see nothing that would justify this name. What is so special about black and white lines? Nothing I guess. But then I saw it – It’s awesome! This would be some cool way to hide secret messages and information. Maybe we are not even aware that this could be some highly sensitive information government or army lost by accident? You never know. Can you spot the illusion it holds? I’m sure you can, just don’t give up! I’d really like to hear what you see, since I’m not exactly positive.

It’s a Teddy Bear walking towards the viewer. Moving your head helps you see it.

it is a teddy bear
It’s a brown bear that got his foot caught in a trap so the only solution was to rip it out. Hence the missing foot.

well if u make the picture smaller and u look out of the picture you can see like a bear
wow thats cool. its like one of those 3d images books you look at when you were kids. I just crossed my eyes and slowly uncross it and saw something cute….
Also, note that if you close one eye and rotate your head the image becomes more or less visible. Possibly because of the alignment of the rods and cones in rows on the retina. Does anyone know for sure?

Its a bear, but the body shape is very wierd to me.
It IS pedobear, this illusion is almost as old as the messageboard it came from.

Yeah I can see a sort of animal on the right, like an elefant, but i’m sure that it is an optical illusion because it’s just when you leave your eyes from the picture you can see it.
I love the way there’s all these people going “It’s a cute little teddy bear!” Oh yes. Very cute. Great with kids.
Ah, Pedobear. Incidentally this one hurts my eyes- tips, for those scrolling down- back up from your screen, that’s the best way to see it.
i cant believe ppl cannot recognise this its simple ur eyes are constantly moving when u look at this image straining as u move farther back ur eyes relax an the image gets clearer

Yes it’s Pedobear….but beautiful??! That’s a little wierd….many people could take that in the wrong way…maybe u should change ur wording to ‘creepy’!
Its a good illusion, but you should be wary of leaving it up now u know what it means as u could b accused of promoting inappropriate sick organisations…
ok guys, i think with 83 COMMENTS we have established WHAT it is… what i’m interested in is the illusion… isn’t that what this site is about? how did they get an image just with black and white lines? though the image itself isn’t, i think the actual illusion is pretty amazing.

Wow….it amazes me how few people know who Pedobear is, and it amazes me even more how many people comment on how it’s a “loony toon” (which saddens me enough), but post that despite the pages of comments about who Pedobear is. Wow. That’s hilarious– this just made my night. Thanks for the apology btw, unneeded as the people that would care are those that would never have heard of Pedobear anyway, but professionalism like that is rare nowadays.

As i was reading your caption i saw the picture with the corner of my eye, and saw a very obvious giant shadow. i wondered why everyone else had trouble seeing it, and did i have super powers? then i looked directly at it, and couldn’t see it at all. damn, no superpowers
