Manuel M. Almeida is the author of Mangas Verdes – probably the most popular blog in Spain. Well, he stumbled upon our little community by accident, and liked it so much that he decided to share some of his illusions with us. Another blog he runs, Imagina Fotolog had this photo for very long time. Now he allowed us to use it. Illusion is very simple, and personally reminds me greatly of Lenin’s Trick Shot illusion. As you see for yourself, the photo is just a lucky shot which pictures statue of tenor Alfredo Kraus, who is helping pink bear-kite to fly. This is what Manuel originally wrote me: “My name is Manuel M. Almeida. I’ve just discovered Mighty Optical Illusions and I like it very much. I have a photo that perhaps you can post to your blog. It shows the statue of the tenor Alfredo Kraus, who is helping bear-kite to fly. The shot was taken during the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria’s International Kites Festival, in Las Canteras beach, on July, 2006. I hope you like it. Regards.”

Errr… What exactly am I supposed to be looking at? 16th comment? :)
I don’t get it…
the statue isn’t really flying the kite…so its an optical illusion that he is, i think…
NICE kite!xD
So, the statue is in the foreground and the kite is really much larger and in the backround??!
I think the statue is supposed to be grabbing the bear’s but, and that’s the illusion…
I think we’re supposed to think he is trowing the kite into the air with his hand?
Statues usually only have to worry about pigeons. But if gigantic cartoon bears start dumping on them as well … Who’d want to be a statue???
YAY! I was first!
Lol! I wouldn’t want to be a statue!
Bear : I BELIEVE I CAN FLY!!!! I BELIEVE I CAN TOUCH THE SKY!!!!!!!! WEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
Looks like the statue is catching a big purple poop nugget from the bear, lol
