I had to share this with you people! I know, I know – its not your traditional type of optical illusion, but this funny animation made me laugh my ass of. Still the 3d “stereoscopic” effect it produces, somehow qualifies it being posted to Animations Category and to this website. Anyone can recognize the two guys in it? I found out that the flick is called Chuckle Brothers, but have never heard of them before. Are they comedians of some sort? I really don’t know how they managed to produce this effect, but speculate there is strong connection with the method used in 3D fireplace and Stereo Dino illusions. You can find few more of a kind inside Animations section, but be aware I haven’t updated mentioned category yet, so it may be unpleasant experience browsing it. When you jump inside Animations, you’ll know what I mean.

That’s pretty funny. You can see double images under the mustaches so it looks like they just broke the photo up into a few planes and then moved them around, with the outer planes moving more than the inner ones so it looks 3D
Cool effect.
The Chuckle Brothers were big on kids’ TV in the 1990s, in the UK. They had an afternoon show on the BBC called Chucklevision. Basically lots of stupid slapstick, pretty lame, really!
its not an illusion if computers are used to create it, illusions are pictures which by themselfs trick the mind like many you have had before this is not an illusion it is a computer generated immage… p.s chuckle brothers suck!!!
Obviously the one on the right has told bigger lies. Or is it a truly deceptive illusion?
Chuckle chuckle vision, ch-chuckle vision, chuckle chuckle vision chuckle vision! To me, to you! Good times
Ugh! I find that really rather creepy! But for some reason i am hypnotised and can’t stop looking at it!
they defo werent lame, i love them! They are still on tv – or they were last year anyway. And they are real brothers, amazing!
Ch-ch-chuckle vision, ch-chucklevision, ch-ch-chucklevison! doodoo, doodoo, do do do!
This is not an illusion. The pixels are moving! Illusions are only moving in your mind.
This site should change it’s name from “Mighty Optical Illusions” to “Random Crap I Found on the Internet”
lol @ #3, clearly has no idea of the definition of illusion. this is well done, really does give the illusion of 3D, even though its just 2D pieces moving around.
Interesante efecto, y talcomo opina Dave: Cool
you’re stupid, how is this even an illusion?
this is a guess, but change the faces,
chrlie sheen and allan, from and a half men??
They look like Mario and Luigi from Super Mario Bros.
that is so damn scary
Chucklevision, chuckle-chuckle vision! Chucklevision, chuckle-chuckle vision!
ohhhh they were HILARIOUS!
Awww I used to like the Chuckle Brothers when I was little, I even got their signature! Sure, I don’t watch it now. As for the people that say its “pretty lame”, I’m guessing your not under 10 years old, which means the show is not intended for you anyway.
BTW, the one on the left is called Paul, and on the right is Barry.
I’d say it is an illusion, cos the person that created it managed to make a normal photo look 3D, and made it look like they’re turning their heads. Nice One!
Also, when I was little, I luvved the Chuckle Brothers :P
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Chuckle_Brothers <—- This says it all really.
The Chuckle Brothers were a kids TV show (i say were i think they still are its just not seen as much because of the amount of channels nowadays) Chucklevision was the name of the show, Paul and Barry Chuckle (or rather Paul and Barry Elliot)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuckle_Brothers
well known for their catchprases; “To me, to you” and “oh dear, oh dear”
CHUCKLEVISION! It rocked…come on, i was a kid!!XD
The picture also gives the illusion of the eyes following you around the room. Whichever angle you look at them, they’re always nodding and looking at you…creepy…
Well, The Effect is pretty easy to make.
First, you get a normal Image and cut off the Face.
Then, you make 5-8 Pictures of your Face, but in a circular moving.
Then you cut out the face and paste it into your “mainimage”.
after doing that with all the photos, you make them to a .gif and that was it.
well. i know i’m having nightmares tonight
chucklevision is HIALRIOUS.If u dont find it funny then maybe there is something wrong with you.But i guess its just personal preferences.
the chuckle borthers are from Barnsley and all the kids loved them in the 90’s. its still on TV now and is very entertaining haha
chucklevision was/ is great!!!! lol Always gd for a laugh =P
omg have you never heard of chucklevision!!!
to me, to you, to me, to you … and so on lol they are amazing.
They totally look like Mario and Luigi
Yeah, the chuckle brothers… but they never make/made me laugh. They’re a lamely funny (or not) kids show.
I used to like the Chucle Brothers, and ChuckleVision. Now they give me nightmares!
AHH! ITS SCARY! :|
ALL TOGETHER NOW!!!!!!!!!!
CHUCKLE-CHUCKLE VISION
CHUCK CHUCKLE VISION
CHUCKCLE CHUCKLE VISION!!!!!!
BAM BAM!!
(I LOVE THAT SHOW!)
I love it right now! The other day i saw the parrot one. I love the outtakes at the end of the show. Great site, by the way.
How can you NOT know the Chuckle Brothers!!!!!!!
i hate how some people are so quick to say it’s not an illusion. the definition of an optical illusion is: A visually perceived image that is deceptive or misleading.
just because it’s a moving gif and computer designed, doesn’t mean it’s not an illusion. it’s misleading you to feel that the picture is three dimensional when in fact it’s not. i think that pretty much qualifies it as an illusion.
I think I’m gonna have nightmares for the rest of my life after looking at that picture!
I love the Chuckle Brothers! =]
This is pretty awesome, it really does look 3D =D
GOOD GOD! THATS NUTS!
