Hy everybody! I wish you all a happy New Year 2008! I’m writing this from Sarajevo, BiH from where we celebrated New Year’s eve. I hope you all won’t take it against me for not posting for the last few days. It’s just that holly days are coming one after another. Let’s jump into new year with fresh illusions and best wishes to everyone. Carl Betz sent in this photo that appeared on the front page of USA Today a few years ago. Apparently there was no photoshop involved, but I’m not exactly sure how the illusion was obtained. Either they found some really small horses, or they created big stools and tables. What do you think? If you like to guess this kind of stuff please take a look at the relative sizes category. Enjoy! I’ll arrive back home tomorrow, and write more detailed posts about our trip.

These are scaled pieces and definitely not Photoshopped. I can tell by the legs of the chairs and table, they’re too thin to be real. They would brake very easily.

Assumig that there was no photo manipulation (photoshop, etc) involved, it must have been a really big table… Actually, looking at the table legs, that has to be the case.

  3. chuck75 says:

no photoshoped? c’mon! thats the epitome of photoshop alterated pictures!!!

  4. Crawf says:

hmmm, they look like pretty regular horses to me. Judging by the size of the fence in the background, I’d say somebody’s put a little too much time into making that dining setting. Anyone know if there was a point to it?

  5. Screaming Doubles says:

just look at the brackets they used in the chairs. there is no practical use for those, less it is a monster set…
i think the table and chairs are really huge, or there was some freestanding poles already in the field that they used to help put a full image together. either way, its a pretty interesting photo…

  6. Sam says:

It looks as though it may have been created using toy horses to make it seem as though the furniture is much greater than what it actually is.

  7. Anonymous says:

has to be photo-shopped, or someone made some giant furniture.

  8. Snowman25 says:

Well, just a really big Table….

  9. Anonymous says:

Yesterday on Galileo (German TV) they showed how some guys created the largest chair in Germany…

  10. Anonymous says:

Judging by the size of the fences in the background – I would tend to say that the table and chairs were specially built at that size

  11. Anonymous says:

I guess they created really big chairs with a matching table. The wooden flowers are too undefined for a smaller work and the horses seem really familar with the shady furniture.

  12. slgtheindividual says:

its the furniture that’s huge, it was on the news here in the UK a while ago.

  13. Anonymous says:

Are you guys serious? It’s been photoshopped, obviously. How hard is it to come to that conclusion???

  14. smilieface says:

At first i thought the table was just closer to the camera but there are horses in front of the table so that’s wrong!!! My guess is that they’re fake horses!!

  15. Sarah says:

    OMG Its so annoying

  16. Anonymous says:

Many of ya are saying the horses are far and furniture is close, but its not like that, because, in case you havent noticed, the horses are covering up parts of the legs of both the tables and chairs. So my guess is that the props are oversized.

  17. Anonymous says:

Did all of you fail to notice the utensils in the barrel on the table? There is a shovel, rake, broom, etc. Bet the table and chairs are just really BIG!!!
    I think this is great.

To those of you who pick on the guy who does this website: If all you can do is be smart@*s’s, then why don’t you just save your energy for something else. Like getting a hobbie, other than bothering other people because you are miserable.

  18. oban says:

I think the most obvious solution is the correct one.
Obviously they have grown very tiny horses with the help of genetic enginering.
I mean, how else could this be done?

  19. Anonymous says:

1 of the horses is in front of 1 of the table legs

  20. Anonymous says:

yes it cannot be that the horses are far away and the chairs and table are close because the gray horse seems to be behind the front-left leg of the chair on the right but in front of the back-right leg.

    • Anonymous says:

It’s a lot more simpler than you guys think it is, they just got bigger furniture to make it look like the horses are really small

  21. Anonymous says:

No doubt this is real, and no illusion.

Look closely at the chairs, the table, the flowers, and especially the table cloth. Its all made out of wood, and various hints says that its big.

    Great picture!

  22. Anonymous says:

i think it’s photoshopped because, there are no big shadows of the table and chairs. and the horces are at some spots in front of the table and chairs, so it’s not that the table and chairs are just closer to the lens

    • David B. says:

Not photoshopped- just big sculptures. You can’t see the shadows of the “furniture” and the horses because there is a slight downward hill hiding the shadows.

  23. Anonymous says:

its photo shopped, the horses back, on the left under the chair, doesnt meet up properly

  24. Anonymous says:

this was in the ripleys belive it or not ( 2009 ) the chairs and props are oversized

  25. Anonymous says:

It has to be oversised chairs/table, because the horses are in front of a leg of the table, and under the chairs, so it’s not just a camera angle, plus the fence in the background.

  26. Cecilia says:

my guess…midget horses!lol. 4 real? no idea!and you have got 2 be kidding me …107th?!?

  27. Callie says:

those are the worlds biggest chairs or something like that i saw them in the book of world records the horses are normal

  28. julie says:

the table and chairs are an advertisement for some furniture company. they are huge so they can be seen from the road. i read about this in a newspaper.

  29. MnM s says:

ok mabey it is cllose up tables plus chairs and horsies far away, or the tables play tables and modle horseies:)or it can be photoshopped

  30. Ginger says:

if i was one of those horses i would be freaking out. How did some one make that? and why?

  31. Elliot says:

aaaaahhhhh giant table and chairs scary!

  32. em says:

yeah. the chairs and table are huge. its simple.

  33. emu says:

    hahahahaha….no shadows :P

  34. asianpearlkeeper says:

the flowers are fake and appear to be in a bucket and the table legs are really thin in conparison to the table.

  35. rawr says:

the chairs and the table are just really big the horses are normal

  36. cheeze says:

its really easy um like some one else said that all the furniture is made out of wood so they made them really big .!!! ooooor the horses are fake plastic little tiny horses. or both hehehahaha

  37. Cathy says:

    Hey everybody!
This Picture is real! It’s in Germany. The owners of the horses are not allowed to built a sheed for their animals. So they built this huge table. It is decoration and not a bulding. For deco you don’t need a permission in Germany. They decorate the table for every season in another dress ;)

    sorry for my bad english!
    Cathy

  38. Dakota says:

the picture is photoshoped, look at teh grain when u enlarg or zoom on the picture, u can see its both different.

  39. ZL123 says:

This is soooo funny. But I think it’s real. It’s a supersized wooden outdoor picnic.

  40. NSGer says:

i’ve seen this before, they acutally made MASSIVE tables and chairs
