Liisa Kaupmees submitted this simple and romantic optical illusion. All I can tell you, is that even if the sailor lifted his arms from his women of desire, she wouldn’t fall. In fact, she probably wouldn’t move an inch. Tell me, how can this be? Did you spot the illusion? It took me a minute to understand it. Hope you can beat me. Oh yeah first to comment!!! This one is easy the guy is standing and the girl is laying on the ground…Duh…..its still romantic though =)

This is a really good allusion i didn’t get it at first.
it is a view from the top. she is laying on a ledge. he is below it, hugging her as she lays infront of him at the level of his chest.

She’s lying on the ground,and over a short wall ,where he is standing slightly below her.
Probably, the sailor is standing up and the girl lying on a rooftop.

As far as i(eye) can tell, the image is a bird’s eye view of a woman lying down reaching over a ledge putting her arms around a sailor that is standing beneath her on the lower ledge/floor. Sound plausible?
The girl is lay flat on the ground and the sailor is on a lower level reaching up. The birdseye shot creates the illusion

i think i get it, i dont want to give it away, but isnt like the old “rock climbing” illusions? its all in perspective and camera angle.

her right foot is standing on a protruding peg and left knee could be kneeling on something.
I think he is standing up and she is laying on a ledge that is at his shoulder height. The picture is taken from a higher ledge looking down at them.

The only conclusion I can come to is that she’s lying down on stage and the sailor came down from the audience floor to kiss her.

I looked at this pic for about 5 mins, i don’t get it at all.
The woman is laying belly down on a high ledge.
The man is standing below the woman facing the wall of ledge. He is tall enough to place his arms around the woman.
The picture is an aerial view.

But to me it looks like the couple is actually lying on the ground, the balcony is just an illusion created by the line of bricks, that give a sense of depth…
And after coming to this conclusion, I find it hard to see the woman “hanging” anymore…
The women seems to be held by the sailor because the girl’s hair and how he is holding her. You can also tell in the background the water removers in the wall. (the lighting is not from the sun)
This I think is no optical illusion. Look at the sailors hands how tensed they are. And also how the dres is pulled to the bottom of the picture. Most of all the pavement stones (the small square blocks at the bottom do not have a correct structure for a wall.
That is the street and there for the girl is hanging and would drop if the sailor let go.

Its easy, he’s standing against the egde of a wall and she is laying ontop of the wall and the pic is taken directly above them.

I can’t really tell. The picture is not really all that big, but if I were to guess I would have to say that the sailor is standing up and the woman is laying on the ground. You know, like the picture was taken from above them. But I can’t see any illusion in that. Whatever it is it is either very well done or I am just blind.

I think the man is standing and the woman is laying down. Look where the concrete breaks pattern and kinda where their heads are, i think that is the end of ground where the woman is laying, and the man is standing on a different piece of concrete.

I get it. She is holding him up. She is lying on the ground. And waht looks like to be the street is actually a wall. And the guy is hanging of the edge is is trying to pull himself up.
Gravity, learn how it works.
Look at her hair and her dress and awsner this question: what does your hair do when you are lying on your stomach? Does it fall straight down your back towards your feet or does it hang over your ears, towards the ground? Now check picture again…
Also notice her balancing foot and look closely…
