Descent to the Mediterreanean

and it is by Vladimir Kush.

I don't think I am allowed to post a link here. But just google his name and his web site come up.

I agree it isn't a great illusion, but it great surrealistic art!

While i agree some of the recent ones have been lame, I commend the site for 1) overall having great illusions and 2) for putting up peoples comments even when they are not favorable to the site. Takes balls.

For me, the legs spoil it. If they’d been somehow incorporated as cracks in the steps or something, it would be more satisfying.
But I like this site. We can see a variety of illusions, and many people seem to like this one more than I do, so it’s got its value!

Another minor illusion in there. When I first looked at the thunbnail, it looked like the guy was walking towards a beach, when he is actualy walking towards a city. The efect is kind of lost now that I know what it realy is, though.

But it is more surrealist art than optical illusion I would say…though the line does blur…

I really liked this illusion when I saw the upper body – the lower portion just doesn’t work so well – it’s more of a super-imposed image over the steps rather then shaping a body out of cracks and ridges the in walkway – the shoe is the one main thing that is bugging me haha.
but REALLY love the top half :)
