Assignment of the day: first of all download.. errrm… buy Aretha Franklin’s song “A Rose is Still a Rose” to get you in the mood, and then look at the optical illusion below. Rose is popular motive in literature, art and romance. Well, optical illusions are tightly connected with art. The image below belongs to “Multiple Meanings” category, and that is only hint you’ll get from me. Look at the image, observe it, and try to figure why it’s an optical illusion in it’s nature. If you noticed, the style is very similar to What Do You See Illusion and Autumn Motives. Probably they all came from the same artist. I believe there were few more similar ones posted in the past, but I can’t recall them. Use the search box in the sidebar if you wish, after you download Fergie ringtones from the bottom of the site :P

nice. i like how the wooden frame around picture is also an impossible object.

Plus the leaves and even the stem goes beyond the picture.

the image name gives it away :P
But before I saw that I still found it and thought it was good.

I like the multiple illusions in this one…I noticed the frame first and then saw the shoes and had to look for more from there.

  25. Vern says:

I quickly saw the illusion in the rose. Nice and subtle. And then I noticed that the frame itself is an impossible object. Cool.

  33. Anonymouse says:

It’s easy to see, but it’s still a nice ilusion.

  34. =P says:

there are many other things going on than just the people in the rose. the rose itself is a picture, yet the stem and the leaves extend beyond the paper. also, both the frame and the arch in the background are impossible objects. very cool.

  35. Graybaka says:

    geeze, that’s preatty cool

  36. Kalthia says:

    Very subtle, and sweet.. :)

  37. Shane says:

apart from the obvious dimension changes in the fore and background (ie-the flower leaves are over the wooden part and bend with the page), you can see that the woman inscribed in the flower has stripped shoes and stockings to get to the guy there too. its good!

  38. Anonymous says:

It’s very obvious, i saw it in a manner of seconds

  39. Anonymous says:

Kindda cool. I think that was So So.

That’s a great painting, the illusion is very easy though, but nice work by the artist.

  40. Cyndi says:

  41. Anonymous says:

  43. bmak says:

I love the very M.C. Escher-esque border in addition to the “inner-beauty”

  44. Ellie says:

Oh that’s awesome. And really pretty. :) Normally i find them a bit tricky but i got it quite quick, it was subtle but there were some clues too – which was good. Like a bit of a trail.

  45. Terrapaw says:

That’s an amazing one! At first it’s just a rose throughh a window, then the rose has the two people kissing, then it looks like it’s peeling of like a framed picture! And if you look carefully at the the top windowsil/frame it’s an impossible rectange sorta thing too.

  46. Anonymous says:

  47. Snowman25 says:

    That’s a cool Border ^^

  48. danyboy says:

    Pas mal !

  49. Anonymous says:
