Assignment of the day: first of all download.. errrm… buy Aretha Franklin’s song “A Rose is Still a Rose” to get you in the mood, and then look at the optical illusion below. Rose is popular motive in literature, art and romance. Well, optical illusions are tightly connected with art. The image below belongs to “Multiple Meanings” category, and that is only hint you’ll get from me. Look at the image, observe it, and try to figure why it’s an optical illusion in it’s nature. If you noticed, the style is very similar to What Do You See Illusion and Autumn Motives. Probably they all came from the same artist. I believe there were few more similar ones posted in the past, but I can’t recall them. Use the search box in the sidebar if you wish, after you download Fergie ringtones from the bottom of the site :P

Nice, impossible objects (frame and twist on background arch), illusions of 3 dimensions and hidden images (I noticed the fallen petals weren’t fallen petals first, then thought of why there’d be shoes and discarded stockings before looking back to the rose, which had looked slightly odd to start with) all combined.

La Vie en Rose was the title of a recent movie about the life of Edith Piaf, a French singer who was famous especially in the 40s and 50s. It is also the title of one of her most famous songs, which is what you should listen to. This poster is particularly appropriate to her life, which was one of passion and oddities.

it’s an illusion bcuz the paper is separated in the frame and the rose’s leaves are out of the frame… there is a shoe… then the stemm of the rose is out of the wooden frame
