Lynn Haupt emailed me this picture of a boy, probably called Treavor (like the file is named) holding a fire in his hand. I thought it is a funny and smart illusion, so I published it online as well. You may ask how is that the boy doesn’t get his skin burned from the fire? It’s quite simple, he isn’t really holding it at all! I believe this is just a plain “relative sizes” illusion, where the fire is far behind the porch of the house, and is probably few meters tall! These optical illusion are very easy to produce, and this is probably the reason, why so much of them exist. You should make one of your own, for fun at least. But be careful that you hand doesn’t melt ;)

See top left of the picture ‘holding the sun’ – the original is bigger and has more impact, but it’s along the same principles as todays illusion.
Heheheh, now thanks to fallapaloop i can’t look at this picture without thinking the illusion is, “It looks like i’m grabbing my crotch but actually my hand is by my side … or is it?!”

Here’s how 2 do it.He is holding his hand to where you cant see the palm. The actual He did a good job because he actually made it look like he is holding te flame, but look closer.

Actually, you can make REAL (and holdable!) fire balls, so I wouldn’t doubt that this is real.
