Invisible Flounder Fish

So, what's been happening lately. As you might have noticed, our pages are back in Google index, after some problems we had previous week. Also, you can now again submit our articles to digg or stumble-upon them easily. We had some banning issue in the past with digg, but that is sorted out now. So if you have a spare second, you can vote for us. I took my free time and updated Color Adapting section, so be sure to check all those cool illusions posted there. I'd also like to mention we continue building our links exchange, and Myspace Layouts site freecodesource.com is our newest exchange. If you also have high trafficked website, and would like to do premium sitewide link exchange with Mighty Illusions, be sure to contact me. Now let's go with today's illusion:

You'll probably think "what does sand has in common with optical illusions?" Not much, I agree. But what you see below isn't only sand. There is something camouflaged in the photo below. Can you see the hidden life form I am referring to? I know I pointed out coffee bean man before, but this one is very similar in my opinion. For another similar illusion, be sure to see camouflaged girl.

now this is a true example of camoflage, but not an illusion, but acceptable to me in this category

Amazing. I can understand those who don't believe Darwin's theory (although I do, however!). Nature's ability to create inteligent structures on living beings almost reaches the miracle category. In fact, you and me are here, without having asked for it... not so trivial!.
    Great self-made illusion.

I can't believe I'm first. Great site, I look every day. Not up to standard today, just a clever fish, but I supose it is only doing what we (people) do with paint & cameras.

Great picture, more like the camoulaged suits than the coffee bean man (which was much harder to spot)… Great site, thank you Vurdlak.

That is pretty cool, and I love your site. I think it's funny how you told us the answer in the title.

Flounders are suposed to lay down and camouflage with their surroundings. Because of their habit of laying that way their left eye develops on the right side so they can see.

Oi! HOW DID THOSES OTHER POSTS GET AHEAD OF ME!?!?! I SOUND PRETTY STUPID YELLING "HAHAHA FIRST POST" IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PAGE! >:<

how can you not see it?!?! it's RIGHT THERE!

  20. Anonymous Anonymous

An illusion is something that deceives the senses. Camouflage is therefore an illusion.

Looks like a flatfish known as a sanddab, based on the apparent size. I've seen a large number of these when diving in Monterey, CA. Very cool little fish.

  22. Blogger Schaianne

    Nature's camouflage is the coolest!!

    Comouflage is an illusion!
